• As summer (finally) approaches, we're pitching up at Rhythm Factory for more deep, heads down sub-bass shenanigans, courtesy of three of the brightest talents in the scene. Representing Berlin, London and Bristol respectively, they'll be dishing out brain-curdling doses of techno, dubstep, UKG and D&B - just the way we like it. Topping the bill is a man we've been gagging to bring in since day one: the mighty Paul Rose, aka Scuba, aka SCB. Currently bossing the techno/dubstep/whatever hinterland via his peerless Berghain clubnight Sub:stance (which saw him deliver a stunning mixtape for Ostgut Ton back in January) and, more recently, the Killasan-abusing Horstflush parties, and generally ruling the proto/post-dubstep roost with his much-revered Hotflush imprint (home to the likes of Joy Orbison, Mount Kimbie and COLONY favourite Sigha), he's established himself as a key player in Europe's dance music underground. Factor in two superlative full lengths (2008's A Mutual Antipathy and this year's gorgeous Triangulation), a string of deadly twelves, and a kick-ass house/techno side project (SCB, fool), and you've got yourself a bona fide scene shaper. 2 hours behind the decks is a given. Support comes from two of the UK's most promising young producers: London's Tom Green, aka Rockwell, and Bristol's Luke Standing, aka Furesshu. Rockwell has quickly established himself as the next big thing in deepside D&B, with releases on Critical and Digital Soundboy (his new EP, Stowaway, is the bollocks), and forthcoming weaponry for Darkestral and Shoghun. A former resident at Cardiff's Aperture night, he's a rock solid DJ (check his recent Take Fight Club mix for evidence) and will be given a suitably deep-in slot to work his magic. Meanwhile, Furesshu - promoter of, and resident at, Bristol's excellent Seasonfive and Monochrome parties - has recently popped up with a top-notch 12" for Project Squared, incorporating dubstep, garage and four-to-the-floor textures the likes of which Dettmann and Klock have been caning, and which he'll no doubt be ploughing out on the night. Check. As ever, residents MB and CB will be kicking things off, with visuals from the man Darkin and his partner-in-crime Foy, and rip-roaring sound courtesy of Rhythm Factory's banging Turbo Aspect rig. The club has come on leaps and bounds of late, with the likes of Peter Van Hoesen, D Bridge and Instra:mental set to grace its cavernous back room.
