In keeping with the ethos of pushing new sounds and artists it is with the utmost pride & delight that Shrug is playing host to yet another breakthrough artist duo on their first tour of Australia, the internationally renowned & respected Kollektiv Turmstrasse.
Innovation. If there is a quality that separates the good producer from the ground-breaking innovation is surely it, and these boys have it in spades. The lovechild of a chance meeting near the Baltic Sea, the now Hamburg based project of Christian Hilscher and Nico Plagemann has risen to new heights of notoriety since the November release of their debut album, Rebellion der Traumer. Featuring a number of immaculate
feature tracks separated by subtly nuanced interludes. The duo have demonstrated a degree of well executed versatility rarely encountered, but always appreciated. Maintaining the same attention to detail and carefully crafted textures iconic of their earlier deep and tech-house releases, this venture across genres plays like the soundtrack to a surrealistic epic.
When Nico and Christian start working the crowd, it's like somebody dumping a bucket of energy on the dance floor. Kollektiv Turmstrasse makes music for the moment and for eternity, for indoors and for open air, for the soul and for the dancefloor, for you and for me. Along with releases on Connaisseur, Dynamik, Cocoon and Ostwind, Kollektiv Turmstrasse has also been working on their very own label Musik Gewinnt Freunde, which they started in 2006.

Tim Culbert; A long serving DJ in the Sydney scene who talents are known by anyone with an interest in deep melodic goodness. It is with great pleasure that Shrug welcomes back a DJ that headlined our very first event back in November 2008. Tim's music has always stuck a chord with what i love and his mixing and understated attitude are something i greatly respect and could not ask for a better DJ to have play on this epic night.
Raffi Darkchild; Raffi is a being of light, soul, love and wondrous deep music...Raffi can be found outdoors at many of the gigs that you only wish you knew about...and only ever hear about. A regular at the Deep as F*ck/Subsonic parties we are honored to have someone with such a deep seated love of music and life to have play for us.
Rounding out the line up are Sydney's ever brilliant, ever youthful Robbie Lowe (who'll be celebrating his 21st birthday on the night AGAIN....) and deepness in beard form, Dave Stuart.
