Mulletover Halloween 2011

  • UPDATE - 18/10 People!! The time has come to let you know the location of our Halloween extravaganza!! For the past few years we've made Great Suffolk St our home and had some incredible parties there. But Halloween has always been about the spectacle and the production values and we've decided to take it back into the settings of a club proper to achieve that. And we think we've found the best place to be able to pull off what we've been wanting to do for a long time. Proud2, formerly matter will be the setting for our Halloween hoe-down and we're super, super hyped about the night ahead... We actually wanted to use the venue for our Halloween party when it first opened, but the powers that be wouldn't let us use it, so it's been a space we always wanted to get our hands on! The club has one of the best sound systems in London and a bodysonic dancefloor - this is one of the main factors for us when we chose this venue. To truly set things off, we've hired C02 Cannons, pyrotechnics and lasers will be in full action throughout the evening as well as Mr Kurrage and his astounding ghoulish decor and production team. Remember what hung from the ceilings in Great Suffolk St last year? Be afraid... Plus directly linked to the club is the terrace, Proud2’s dedicated outside smoking area, a beautifully decked space, with lanterns and a breathtaking view of the London skyline. On top of that we've got the Bitch N' Stitch crew in full effect on the night. Part of Team Love, as well as they incredible face decoration they're fame for and has graced mulletover's parties in the past there'll also be a ridiulous list of Halloween games througought the venue and indeed throughout the night: Body part hoopla, Graveyard vandalism, Treasure hunt, Make-up and Eyelashes staff... and a whole host of other scarily themed participation ahem... sports! The club has a 24 hour license, so if we want to keep the party going we can - we won't have bouncers standing over our shoulder at 5.50 telling us that's the last record. So with all the incredibility slowly creeping (geddit? yeah good wasn't it) into place there's only one thing you need to concentrate on before next Saturday if you haven't already, get that costume sorted right now! Fancy dress isn't obligatory but you'll most certainly look a bit odd if you're NOT wearing it! There'll be more info to follow next week - drinks deals, buses and more but for now feast your eyes on the photos to your left and get those costumes nailed. :) Big love mullet family x -------- The announcement of Steve Bug, Tobi Neumann and mulletover’s own Geddes has already sparked a frantic flurry to acquire tickets for mulletover’s Halloween party on the 29th October. These three prestigious acts would be enough for most of you, however we can now announce that they will be joined by a further the noteworthy names - Guy Gerber, Andrew Weatherall and Ivan Smagghe. Completing the line-up in Room One is owner of the acclaimed Supplement Facts imprint, Israel native Guy Gerber who has been responsible for some of the biggest records in recent memory. With style that ́s anything but conventional, he’s been drawn into some of Europe ́s most popular labels; three years after his recording debut, Gerber released the first of several records on John Digweed ́s Bedrock imprint. A couple of years later, Sven Väth signed him to Cocoon, eventually releasing his album ‘Late Bloomers’. More recently he ́s embarked on his most unexpected project yet: an album with P Diddy, ‘11:11’ who hired him for some remixes and took him on more permanently after hearing the results, enhancing his reputation as a shrewd production force. Louche make an impactful impression of the mulletover crew as they pull out all the stops with Andrew Weatherall and Ivan Smagghe for a very Wrong Meeting. Gentleman and scholar, engaging raconteur with a huge record collection Weatherall is loved and renowned for his involvement in label/magazine/club night Boys Own, an integral part of electronic trio Sabres of Paradise, forming post-punk electro duo Two Lone Swordsmen and later set up the much loved, Rotter’s Golf Club label. However it will always be his production work on Primal Scream’s seminal Screamadelica that will ensure his exalted position. His counterpart for the evening Ivan Smagghehas become the crème de la crème of Anglo-French dance music and imposed a new vision of leftfield electronica. Standing at the crossroads between glamorous Parisian hype and musical integrity he is credited with making a name for the electroclash genre. Formerly a member of dark Output signed duo Black Strobe, Smagghe is first and foremost, a DJ and one who has the respect of nearly every selector in the game today. Louche residents Brinsley Kazak, Josh T, Tom Frank complete the line-up. Halloween is by far the biggest party of the year for mulletover, selling out last years show (2500 tickets) a month before the night. This year sees the event open to even more people in a bigger space, which perfectly suits the party with two rooms of music, an amazing sound and lighting system, and enough space to transform the venue into a world of Halloween horrors.
