Bringing the best of Berghain (otherwise known as the Holy Land of Techno music) to Australia for the first time on Saturday October 15, Chinese Laundry are proud to present two of Techno’s most talented, most influential, and most certainly not to be missed DJs—MARCEL DETTMANN and BEN KLOCK!
In order to properly celebrate Chinese Laundry’s second Garden party of the season, these two Techno-gods will not only headline the event, but also play for 5 hours. Back to back.

For those who’ve experience Berghain mentalism firsthand or if you haven’t yet ventured to the Holy Land, Dettmann and Klock’s Garden party is unmissable in every respect. No other club symbolises the clubbing zenith more than Berghain. It is recognised the world over as a hotbed of decadence and hedonism; home to brain-crunching, hypnotic techno, the world’s most highly regarded resident DJ’s, as well as some of the strictest entry and photography regulations in a club, worldwide.
And we are bringing two of the best of Berghain direct from Berlin to you.
Whether itls his stunning remix of Fever Ray’s ‘Seven’ and debut longplayer on Ostgut Ton, or tension-building DJ sets that are regarded as Techno legends, Marcel Dettmann always dishes up something special. Indeed, the Berliner pours Detroit’s oil into European engines, puts British bass music under the control of Chicago’s very own Jack, cuts classics with abstract nuances and connects yesterday with tomorrow and today.
Ben Klock’s name is synonymous with the revitalisation of techno. The DJ/producer has played at Berghain since its opening and has made the main room his own with his hypnotic, deep and heavy tunes. Releasing records on Ostgut Ton and his own revered Klockworks imprint, his status as one Techno’s greatest was cemented when his ‘Berghain 04’ mix compilation was judged best of the year by respected tastemakers Resident Advisor.
