- 2020Vision return to Village Underground for this their first London show of 2012 with another stella line-up guaranteed to keep you on the floor from start to finish-'house music all night long, say what'! Supporting famed 20 year Backtobasics resident, 2020Soundsystem band member and original 2020 label founder 'Ralph Lawson', is Mobilee golden boy of Berlin 'Sebo K', Greek live act 'And.Id', 2020 new signings 'Huxley' and 'Joyce Muniz', and Mancunian label mainstay 'Moodymanc'. Like so many others, SEBO K began DJing in the early 90s, finding his footing as a resident DJ at Alec Empire’s Bass Terror, Berlin’s first UK breakbeat party. By the mid 90s he had discovered his love for Chicago house and Detroit techno-a passion evident to anyone who has heard the vintage depths of his 2005 track “Moved”-and, at the turn of the decade, began his residency at Berlin’s legendary POGO club. Since then Sebo has become a resident at Berlin’s Watergate and toured the world's club and festival circuit extensively, whilst always remaining one of the most technically gifted DJs around, as such his debut performance at 2020 is long overdue! AND.ID is Mobilee’s master of swung beats and live brass. Born and bred in Thessaloniki, Greece, Andreas Dimitriadis was heavily influenced from a young age by his musical surroundings–-in the audiences of jazz performances, and absorbed in his father’s extensive record collection–-he began studying music at the age of 10. His acclaimed live show integrates well-loved tracks, his own textured and rhythmic unreleased productions, loops, and a live trumpet performance into a high-energy affair. This one-of-a-kind live show has since landed him extensive tours throughout North and South America, plus spots at world-renowned clubs like Fabric and Panorama Bar, and appearances at international festivals such as Sonar, Nuits Sonores, Synch and Reworks. HUXLEY is leading the way as one of the new breed of UK house producers making their mark on the scene. Schooled on a variety of influences ranging from UK & US Garage, house and early rave music with artists such as Underground Solution, Tuff Jam, Grant Nelson & Kerri Chandler providing the soundtrack. 2011 saw Huxley launch his own Saints and Sonnets label alongside old friend Ethyl, and March 2012 sees Huxley drop his eagerly anticipated debut EP on 2020Vision - keep an eye out for this one - Big! Perhaps our most exciting new signing of 2012 goes by the name of JOYCE MUNIZ, who we were put onto last year by a fellow certain queen of the 2020Vision underground, Maya Jane Coles. Born and raised in Brazil, the bustling DJ, vocalist and producer relocated to Vienna, Austria in the mid-90s, where she began handling vocal and remix duties for a whole array of impressive labels such as Klein Records, K7!, G-Stone and Gomma. In 2010 Joyce scored an Amadeus (Austria's most important music award) for her appearance on Austrian rapper Skero's hit single 'Kabinenparty'. Since then she has gone on to release a succesion of quality deep and groovy house releases on a slew of globally respected house labels, whilst also recently featuring on Lee Foss' recent RA Podcast. Her massive debut EP with 2020 drops in April. Joyce Muniz, check out/youtube the name asap - you heard it here first! 2020 support comes from RALPH LAWSON who is best known as the original resident DJ at the legendary Back To Basics club in Leeds, which now in it's 20th amazing year has become one of the most famous clubs on the planet. Lawson played the very first record there and implemented the classic long sets that became his trademark. Always unique his style has developed over the years to become what is know worldwide as the 2020sound, giving reference to the 2020Vision label he created in 1995 which has also gone on to be one of the very best and respected electronic music labels in the world. MOODYMANC is a an outlet for Danny Ward's house music. Ward was already an internationally respected drummer and hip hop recording artist under the name Dubble D before he embarked on his MM project. He had toured the world drumming for Rae & Christian, Fila Brazilia, Only Child, The Rain band and The Pharcyde. He is also one of the only technically able Jazz drummers to be abel to play alongside the likes of Gilad Atzman and Jim Mullen. He also co-founded and drums for the acclaimed 2020Soudsystem since it's inception in 2003. This background has helped forge a unique DJ talent that combines a wealth of musical influences and produces a truly special sound. Moodymanc's 'Joy' release from last summer caused carnage across the worlds Terrace parties, while his 'Black Paint' track on Tsuba caused devastation in the Underground circuit. He also records for Dessous and Neurotraxx. Moodymanc is far more versatile than the average jock and his sets always manage to bring new sounds and excitement to our parties.
