After recently being awarded DJ Magazine’s coveted ‘Best British Festival’ at the Best of British Awards, this year’s offering will close what will be a truly monumental summer for the Capital. For the first time in our nine year history, the Clapham carnage will cease at 10pm. That’s an extra hour to indulge in the scintillating sights and sounds of the UK’s premier inner city music event. So with an extra sixty minutes to play with, this year’s line-up will be our biggest ever, showcasing an array of prime international artists on a scale never before experienced at SW4. Inspirational talent synonymous with South West Four’s success, are joined by a host of DJ debuts and manic live acts. Furthermore with improved sound levels, a freeze on 2011 ticket prices and numerous other enhancements, SW4 2012 will bring to the English summer an even greater festival experience. Day one of SW4 2012 will welcome 35 prime international artists across four stages. The world’s most exciting live electronic act, the enigmatic Chase & Status, take Saturday’s coveted main stage closing slot, in their biggest ever headline London show. They will be joined by the legendary Carl Cox, who returns to SW4 after headlining the festival in 2006 and 2008, in his ONLY UK Festival performance this year. Pendulum duo Rob Swire and Gareth McGrillen’s huge new electro house project Knife Party debuts at SW4 this year, as does Benny Benassi whose cheeky re-work of Marshall Jefferson’s classic ‘Move Your Body’, is odds on to be the 2012 summer scorcher. They’ll be joined by Toolroom Knight's top dog Mark Knight and the superb John Dahlbäck in two bookings that Clapham's house heads have yearned for. Radio 1’s brilliant Zane Lowe can also be found on Saturday’s main stage bill, as well as top secret project Let The Music Play in a world exclusive. With Erick Morillo’s DJ set one of the ‘must see’ performances in London this summer, it makes perfect sense for ‘Subliminal’, his Pacha Ibiza night and trend setting label to host its own arena. Erick’s set will be his first London performance in over seventeen months and only UK festival appearance of 2012. Erick will also play a second set on the day along with cohorts Harry ‘Choo Choo’ Romero and Jose Nunez. In its UK debut, the talented trio play as ‘Sympho Nympho’, a new project that is guaranteed to have maximum impact. They are joined by the big breakdowns, raring build ups and tribal vibes of fellow US legend Roger Sanchez, the supremely talented and one half of Duck Sauce aka A-Trak, plus some of the best new names in house music: An21 & Max Vangelli, Funkagenda, Sunnery James and Ryan Marciano, Eva Simons and Tim Mason. Paul van Dyk and London institution ‘The Gallery’ join forces at SW4 2012 to present the biggest trance lineup in London this year. Paul headlines the ‘Evolution’ arena, named after his ground breaking new album, a sonic masterpiece that has been five years in the making. Featuring a further array of talent, expect a host of broody, melodic madness from Markus Schulz, The Gallery’s international resident who last ripped up SW4 in 2009. Fresh new music from Garuda’s trance God Gareth Emery, plus Aly & Fila, John O’ Callaghan, Richard Durand, Claudia Cazacu and Gary Proud. John Digweed plays his seventh consecutive SW4, more than any other artist, this time to host the Bedrock International arena. Bursting at the seams with the best in underground house and techno DJs, John will feature besides Guy Gerber, Âme, Robert Babicz [Live], Laura Jones, jozif and Joris Voorn, who returns in 2012 to demonstrate his rare talent which has helped craft a lasting legacy. The pantheon of electronic artists, these acts will elevate SW4 2012 to stratospheric heights. South West Four 2012: It’s Time.
