RANDOM MAGIC steps out of the shadows and into the Spring-time for the second night in their series of music, magic and dancing taking place over the May Bank Holiday at FIRE.
This time they bring something rather special as they conjure up a UK exclusive with house don CAJMERE performing back to back with his own alias GREEN VELVET. Change has been a constant theme throughout the successful career of Curtis Alan Jones, but as he's crossed genres, explored themes from the comedic to the serious and changed monikers, the common thread running through the music he has made for nearly two decades and both his Cajual and Relief labels is its roots in and dedication to the Chicago House sound. For this very special appearance Curtis will be donning both of his hats and performing two special sets. Think lots of smoke and green lights and some rather stunning music.
Also in FIRE's main room will be Nonplus label head BODDIKA. With incredible collaborations between himself and Joy Orbsion, one half of the highly respected Instra:mental, one third of Autonomic and solo as Boddika, these past few years have marked Al Green out as one of the UK club music's most restless innovators.
The Classic Recording Company's leader LUKE SOLOMON and the amazing musical mind that is NEVILLE WATSON play back to back, warming this room to perfection. Luke returns to Random Magic after a spell-binding performance at Halloween to play an extended set with Neville Watson, the master of revivalist house.
Taking over the second room of FIRE will be FARR FESTIVAL. Just 5 years young Farr has grown into one of the most well-respected boutique festivals in the country. With this year's festival stepping up a gear this will be the London launch for the festival. For the celebrations they'll be bringing with them Hot Flush's SOUTH LONDON ORDNANCE who has made musical waves with his Swamp 81-esque percussive house and techno sounds and Stockholm's OCTOBER from SKUDGE Records. In support will be OTTO & FARR RESIDENTS.
Random Magic's last event back in October saw the likes of Omar S, Maxxi Soundsystem, Horse Meat Disco, Luke Solomon, Honey Dijon (Live) put the Funktion 1 Sound System to the test. Taking the spring solstice, morris dancers and maypoles as inspiration for this party, Random Magic is back to wow with more sporadic gatherings and late night happenings.
