  • ADRIAN SHERWOOD BIO: For more than three decades, Adrian Sherwood has been one of the world’s finest and most consistently ground breaking producers, artists and remixers. He has wrought his deep, dark magic upon such acclaimed artists as Nine Inch Nails, The Cure, Primal Scream and Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry, was asked by David Lynch to work on the ‘Wild at Heart’ soundtrack, and has coined countless mind-melting new sounds with legendary acts such as Tackhead and Mark Stewart, as well as his own pioneering creations. Sherwood has always preferred to operate in the shadows, where his creative integrity is least threatened by the all-corrupting ludicrousness of the pop mainstream. Largely left to his own devices, this restless originator has built up a colossal body of work, whose staggering diversity – after launching from reggae and dub, he duly innovated with electronic experimentation, industrial grind, various world musics, and far more – somehow never eclipsed his own identity, nor diluted his unique bass-anchored sound. FRANCOIS K. BIO: François K. is revered as the co-creator of New York City’s legendary dance party Body&SOUL. He tours worldwide for not only his soulful house dj sets, but also for his techno and dub mixes. Over the years he performed regularly at Studio 54, Paradise Garage, The Loft, Ministry of Sound, Sound Factory Bar, Twilo, Roxy and Club Yellow in Japan, to name a few. In great demand, François has gone into the studio to produce/remix recordings by Depeche Mode, Kraftwerk, Jimmy Cliff, Underworld, Eurythmics, Bunny Wailer, U2, Ashford & Simpson with Maya Angelou, the Smiths, Dido, Finley Quaye, Diana Ross, Cure, Mick Jagger, Fishbone, Talvin Singh, D Train, Erasure, Yazoo, Black Uhuru, Thomas Dolby, and Jah Wobble. In 2005 François was inducted into the Dance Music Hall of Fame. DEEP SPACE: Deep Space, is an adventure into future dub, spacey vibes, and abstract grooves featuring resident DJ François K. live on the mixing board with special guests. Since the party’s launch in 2003, Deep Space has featured a who’s who of well known and then emerging artists from around the world representing a stunning array of musical styles that Deep Space is known for integrating into its open minded aesthetic. While the mission of Deep Space remains committed to sharing a love of dub, a vast, under-appreciated musical direction, the party has invited a great range of guest artists to share their creative dub mixing approaches to all things spacey, psychedelic and mind-bending. From dubstep pioneers such as Mala, Goth-Trad, and Digital Mystikz, to house, techno & disco icons such as Giorgio Moroder, Dimitri from Paris, Theo Parrish, Rhythm & Sound, Ron Trent, Carl Craig, Joe Claussell, Derrick May, to cutting edge producers and tastemakers such as Gilles Peterson, Mary Anne Hobbs, Mr. Scruff, DJ Spooky and dub legends such as Adrian Sherwood with Pinch, Mutabaruka and U-Roy, and Brazilian icons Otto with Carlinhos Brown and plenty of live musical and dance performers, Deep Space continues to be a magnet for attracting many of electronic dance music’s most innovative artists. Almost all of the guest artists who play at Deep Space create truly one-of-kind, crate-digging "Deep Space sets." Deep Space has been presented abroad at the Big Chill Festival (UK), Plastic People (UK), TDK Cross Central Festival (UK), Space Lab Yellow (Japan), Café Jamaica (Japan), Precious Hall (Japan), Phase (Japan), throughout France, in Berlin, Denmark, SONAR Festival in Barcelona and across the U.S. In 2010 Deep Space received a dedicated night at Burning Man’s Disorient camp. In 2004 Deep Space was nominated for “Best Club Night” by the internationally televised “DanceStar USA” awards. In 2005 & 2006 François K. won “Best Resident DJ Award” at the Club World Awards held in Miami. Deep Space was named “Best Party 2004” in Time Out New York. Deep Space was nominated for “Best Party,” at the Club World Awards 2006 and 2007. New York Magazine featured Deep Space in the “Best of New York 2006” issue. In 2013 Do Androids Dance lauded Deep Space as one of “The 10 Best Club Nights in the US.” In 2005 Deep Space NYC Vol. 1, a compilation mixed by François K., was released on Wave Music’s imprint Deep Space Media to critical acclaim.
