  • Fis will make his UK debut at the second Tropical Waste party. Awkward and antagonistic yet wholly affirming, his records epitomise the kind of music we want to hear coming out of a soundsystem so we’re psyched to see what he brings to The Waiting Room. Debonair, Iydes and Seb step up for support duties and will come armed with off-kilter dance music readymade for a dark basement. Let’s go… Fis (Tri Angle/Exit/Samurai Horo) Fis is determined to push the high speed rhythms of drum ‘n’ bass toward the brink of total, glorious chaos. Ever unpredictable, the material he has released to date (via cult labels Tri Angle and Samurai Horo) seethes with energy and comes cloaked in distortion. Head-spinning cuts like ‘DMT Usher’ and ‘Homologous 1′ are built from incongruous drum patterns and otherworldly textures, marking the New Zealander out as an artist who melds visceral sound design with outer-limits dance music. This first UK performance comes fresh off the back of the release of his newest EP for Tri Angle, ‘Iterations’, and will see him playing live as well as selecting from his signature, custom-cut dubs. “A producer that has appeared, fully-formed, doing something completely individual.” – RA “His music is heavy with residue: sounds crash, groan and career into one another.” – Dummy “Defined by abstract textures, a unique rhythmic sensibility, and ominous bass.” – XLR8R “The bass-heavy artist who designs abstract riddims to destroy soundsystems.” – Mixmag https://soundcloud.com/fisnz Debonair (NTS) Debonair has been a firm fixture on the NTS schedule since the station began and currently holds down a prime Thursday afternoon slot, during which she showcases her love of no wave, Italo, post punk, techno and classic house. Out of the studio, she’s been known to tear holes in warehouse parties at ungodly hours of the morning. Debonair’s taste runs deep and we’re excited to hear the secret weapons she’s got at her disposal. This lady doesn’t fuck about. https://www.facebook.com/RadioDebonair Iydes & Seb (NTS) Tropical Waste residents Iydes and Seb take what they do on NTS every month to an intimate club setting. Expect mutant club tracks, soundsystem music and a solid dose of Iydes’ own productions, which have grabbed the attention of XLR8R and Dummy of late. http://www.tropicalwaste.co.uk/
