  • Come PLAY with us the First Saturday at our monthly featuring world class artists at the legendary EndUp! PLAY is a party series best described as recess for adults. It's all the fun you aren't supposed to be having because you're supposedly a grown up now. With all the kids you shouldn't hang out with, but they're too much fun not to. And all the music that makes you glad you’ve grown up – just a little. The bells have rung. It's time to PLAY. PATRICE BÄUMEL Patrice Bäumel is an internationally renowned dj and producer currently living in Amsterdam. He is a long-running resident dj at Trouw Amsterdam, one of Europe’s leading venues for electronic music, running his “Black Magic” and “HiFi” nights at the club. Bäumel infuses his productions and dj sets with lots of energy and a sense of adventure, creating a sound that is satisfies the mind as well as the body. He calls it “techno music for grown-ups”. Trademark productions like “Roar”, “Mike Tyson” or, more recently, “The Woods” are perfect examples of that philosophy. Bäumel has worked with a number of outstanding labels like Get Physical, K7, Systematic, Diynamic, Trouw and Turbo and has big releases coming up in 2014 for Kompakt and My Favorite Robot. Bäumel is also involved in several crossover projects involving classical music, such as his rendition of Steve Reich's “Drumming” at the Concertgebouw during ADE in 2013 or his “Yellow Lounge” residency at Trouw. NUNO DOS SANTOS This Portugal-born Dutch national has a cheeky charm about him that is difficult to escape and that works so well in his favor when taking control of the decks in a club. There is constant eye contact, an almost flirtatious vibe going on with the crowd, a sort of positive energy that wins you over almost instantly. Whether it’s running his own label “Something Happening Somewhere,” producing music, or DJing, you can feel that Nuno is utterly in love with what he does. Proof of this comes from the fact that he headlines only the most upbeat clubs around Europe and America. Nuno is a resident at Trouw, Amsterdam, where his unique sense of musical storytelling can be felt through his performances that are full of life and connection. He was also a key resident at the now defunct, but still legendary Club 11, where he had a huge impact on the club’s direction and legacy as a result of booking guests like Modeselektor, Isolee and Lawrence for the first time. Nuno Dos Santos is also an acclaimed producer who has worked both solo and in collaboration with others including Patrice Baumel, Estroe and TJ Kong (with whom he released a fantastic full length album, After Dark, My Sweet in 2010) and has done so on established labels like Compost, Carl Craig’s Planet E, Joris Voorn’s Green Records plus others like Traum and Connaisseur. His sound is created using his deep knowledge of music and veers from sublime techno to more emotional house as exemplified by classic tracks like ‘Merging’, ‘Hamming’ and ‘Circus Bells.’ His experience of working with the best, and of predicting trends ahead of time, have served him well and now feed back into his role as label owner at SoHaSo. NAVEEN G Naveen G is no newcomer to the scene having made his start in 1996 hosting his own show on the influential WNUR 89.3FM Streetbeat Radio that launched the careers of many of his peers originating in Chicago, like Kate Simko, Grayarea and m50. Having caught the attention of world class djs with his very first productions which were licensed to the seminal Global Underground series, Naveen G has fostered his own sound, one that is constently hailed as exploring the late night side of the dancefloor, straying far from the conventional formula, yet still garnering acclaim from DJs and clubbers alike. From minimal to progressive and everything in between, Naveen G's productions reflect his DJing ability to adapt to the crowd or a headliner, drawing on his diverse range. Equally comfortable warming up a room properly or playing on his own deep into the night, Naveen has brought his unique and varied style to the unsuspecting dancefloors across the world from South America to Asia, where they have learned to expect the unexpected. With a long standing top 10 show on Proton Radio, a steady string of releases for the future with past support from Sasha, John Digweed, Satoshi Tomiie, Hernan Cattaneo and others, as well as gigs at beachside bars to international festivals such as BPM, Movement, WMC and Lovefest, alongside a wide range of DJs such as Danny Howells, Lee Burridge, Anja Schneider, Cassy, Audiofly , Chris Fortier, and many others inbetween, Naveen G continues to gain new followers across the board. BUCKNER Buckner is a DJ, a producer, and event planner of over 20 years experience. Currently living in San Francisco, California, he has been fortunate enough to play with some of his personal heroes all over the world and he can lay claim to a handful of commercially released original pieces of music and remix work (with more cooking up in the oven as you read this). Buckner's musical sound covers several flavors of house and techno, mixed in thickly-layered sound, and always sauteed with a twist of funk. He prepares music for a complex palette and the discriminating diner..er dancer... er...fuck it, just bring your appetite and your best dancing shoes. metaphor.over.
