As a member of the now defunct Sandwell District, he helped force the hand of change with uncompromising ability. And still, he continues to do so with even greater strength and success. No time has been wasted in the wake of Sandwell District’s 2011 demise. Along with Regis and James Ruskin, Silent Servant founded the Jealous God label. In it’s short existence, they have already cut-up and reinterpreted many of the conventions of the techno world, forging a unique identity in the process. With it’s highly conceptual aesthetic and relentless dedication to experiment, Jealous God is a flag-bearer for the contemporary electronic avant-garde and a loyal ally to all mutant experimentalists. Along with Jealous God, Silent Servant produces and curates for the Downwards imprint, which, throughout it’s 20 year history, has continued to remain at the forefront of the underground techno world. Inherently obscure, their operation is indirect, and easily they deceive introspection. Consciously working as outsiders and avoiding club lavishness, they earn their respect with less mercy than the hyena his food. The future suggests no fatigue or surrender. Having developed a special kind of discipline, Silent Servant will no doubt continue to drive forward, bringing the truly adventurous with him. His criterion of action is freedom of movement, timelessness of expression, freedom for transgression; holding truth at most high. To that end, there is no compromise. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ VERONICA VASICKA http://minimalwave.com/ https://soundcloud.com/minimalwave https://www.facebook.com/VeronicaVasicka Veronica Vasicka is synonymous with Minimal Wave, the label she started in 2005 to release overlooked DIY synth records from the '70s and '80s. Its musical remit soon became a kind of genre in its own right. Combining her digging skills with a sharp eye for photography and design, she's singlehandedly turned Minimal Wave into one of the most visually and sonically appealing labels out there, with her tireless archival work shining a light onto a generation of obscure bands and producers. Increasingly, she's become in demand as a DJ across Europe and the US, and will soon be releasing music of her own via Regis's Downwards label. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ AN-I http://minimalwave.com/artists/artist/an-i/ https://www.facebook.com/page/An-i/1403130239954137 An-i is the latest musical moniker for Berlin-based former New Yorker Doug Lee. Doug has been DJing and producing records for the last decade under various aliases and collaborations. It fronts a hard hitting sound beyond category, moving from techno to jack to punk and to noise. It suggests an anything goes attitude perhaps dictated more by the will of machines themselves then any author. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ FURTHER REDUCTIONS http://minimalwave.com/releases/release/woodwork https://www.facebook.com/pages/Further-Reductions/447354925367784 Shawn O’Sullivan and Katie Rose formed Further Reductions in 2008 as an outlet for their shared passion of electronic dance music. O’Sullivan, known for his recent techno releases as Vapauteen on LIES, 400PPM on Avian and Civil Duty (with Beau Wanzer) on The Corner has been quite active lately blurring the lines between techno and noise music. With Further Reductions, O’Sullivan’s rhythmic sensibility is fused with Rose’s pop leanings to create super lush and atmospheric tracks that work both on and off the dance floor. Informed by the sounds of classic techno and early house, they subtly substitute the structure of functional club music with a more primal absorption based in their unique collaboration. Seductive vocals coupled with organically evolving sequences create a complex narrative that penetrates the subconscious in a way that conventional club music rarely threatens to. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ THE LONG COUNT CYCLE The Long Count Cycle is here to give shape to the void when needed. It's been said the internal knows no bounds. With this in mind, we seek total immersion. https://www.facebook.com/LongCountCycle https://soundcloud.com/thelongcountcycle ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ 21+
