Brendon Moeller AKA Echologist, Beat Pharmacist [LIVE] (Steadfast Records/ Boards/ Soul People Music):
When it comes to post-Basic Channel dub techno, Brendon Moeller is one of the go-to guys. Since leaving his native South Africa for New York City in 1993, the dub technician has been proudly laying down his musical legacy on labels like Astralwerks, Mule Musiq and Six Degrees Records; working with revered vocalists like Paul St. Hilaire, Mikey Dread and Mutabaruka and fomenting relationships with scene institutions like Fabric, Berghain and Francois K.
Dakini9 (Plan B Recordings/ Sound Warrior):
NYC-based producer, DJ, and label owner Dakini9 (aka Lola Rephann) runs Plan B Recordings with DJ Spider and Sound Warrior Recordings with Jenifa Mayanja. A long-standing figure in New York’s deep, underground music scene, she has appeared on her own labels, as well as Soul People Music, Machining Dreams, Anunnaki Cartel, and Sublevel Sounds.
DJ Chupacabras (Basement Floor):
This Brooklyn based DJ is originally from San Antonio, TX. Chupacabras first started DJing while living in Barcelona around 2001 playing at Bar Benidorm and Club del Mar. Originally leaning more towards Detroit Techno and Electro artists he quickly fell into Miami Bass, Ghetto House, Italo Disco and Chicago House. After sweating it out in the underground illegal party scene for a few years he became resident in one of the secondary rooms at Nitsa Club/Apolo called Sala Neon. There he got to know the likes of Legowelt, I-F, Angel Molina, DMX Krew, Andy Weatherall, Marco Passarani and John Talab..
Dahlia (Output/ Halcyon the Shop):
Born and raised in Los Angeles, Dahlia began collecting vinyl in her early teens, inspired massively after discovering a nightly house and techno broadcast on a local public radio station, Metropolis on KCRW. Masterfully blending sinister dub-techno grooves with organic, percussion-heavy deep house and general low-slung funk, Dahlia delivers sets that reflect kindly on her early Latin jazz, dub and classic house upbringing. Consistently finding new ways to interpret, re-invent and advance these sounds in unique and subtle ways, her blends develop into compositions of their own.
