Saturday, May 23rd 2015, Back for its gloriously funky 2nd year, Red Bull Music Academy and Paxahau present SOUL CLAP’S HOUSE OF EFUNK @ TV Lounge.
Last year's series kick off blew minds and shook booties with performances from Dr. Funkenstein himself, George Clinton, Soul Clap, Egyptian Lover, DJ Three vs Doc Martin, Stacey Pullen and many more. This year, we’re burning down the house with another 13 hours of music beginning Saturday at 11pm and pump-pumping it up until noon on Sunday, letting you out just in time to make it to chuuuuuuuch! Three areas of sound will be open and guaranteed to tease and please with a stacked line up representing the sounds of FUNK, DETROIT dance music, CREW LOVE, real DEEP House, retro Techno and beyond.
Headlining this year are Electro-Funk legends Newcleus, made famous for Eighties musical game changers such as “Jam On It," “Jam On Revenge” and “Auto-Man." Also sharing the headline spotlight are an exclusive DJ set from Metro Area, a live performance from Techno sorcerer Mathew Jonson and a much anticipated Ableton-hybrid performance from Alexander Robotnick. Of course, your hosts Soul Clap will deliver their signature EFUNK sound along with the likes of Tanner Ross, Navid Izadi, Catz 'n Dogz and Thugfucker. Then, in an area reserved especially for Detroit-based artists, we proudly welcome Stacey Pullen for his second year, along with legends Eddie Fowlkes, Terrence Parker, Scott Grooves and longtime local resident Dan Bain.
