SVENGALISGHOST (L.I.E.S. - Chicago) - Live PA
As a member of Ron Morelli’s L.I.E.S. collective, Svengalisghost has taken his Chicago-bred House roots (formerly producing as Below Underground) and twisted them into impressively bold machinations. Hailed for his relentless and hypnotic live sets, which blend hardware rhythms, pulsating EBM influences, and his own distorted vocals, Svengalisghost rarely tours the U.S. but leaves a lasting impression whenever he does. Inhabiting a space between intent and improvisation, this set will be a journey that simply can't be missed.
FIT SIEGEL (FIT Sound, FXHE - Detroit)
One of Detroit’s hardest-working label owners, Aaron “FIT” Siegel has hosted some of the past decade’s most sought-after releases under his FIT Sound imprint. With so much already on his plate, the impeccable quality of FIT’s own productions is downright shocking. Starting with his debut “Tonite” EP on Omar-S’s FXHE Records, followed by 2014’s beautiful Cocomo EP and this year’s much-lauded Carmine EP, FIT’s releases are sparse, meticulous, and simply remarkable. Expect FIT to showcase his finely-tuned ear on the dance floor, and keep us moving until the early hours…
EKMAN (Berceuse Heroique, The Trilogy Tapes, Panzerkreuz - Netherlands)
Where Ekman appears, a scorched trail is left in his wake. Hailing from the Netherlands, the enigmatic producer continues to deliver weaponry on some of techno’s most feared labels: Panzerkreuz, Berceuse Heroique, The Trilogy Tapes, and more. It goes without saying that this is his SF debut; to be honest, we’re not quite sure the city is ready.
DOC SLEEP (Jacktone - SF)
Between running her Jacktone label, her radio show, and tearing up dance floors as a DJ, Melissa Maristuen aka Doc Sleep is a pillar of the SF dance scene. Having chased her talents for a while, we’re excited to finally have her on board. We’ve never been too big on genre definitions here at Sure Thing, and Doc Sleep comes from the same place; whether house, techno, or something else entirely, all that matters is the movement...
