We’ve decided to celebrate this wonderful in-between season by dipping one foot into the outdoors while sticking the other one into a dark and dancey basement - and what better place than The Chippendale Hotel! Picnic is gonna be bringing you the vibes across both levels of this beaut of a venue, and we’ve lined up an act who bridges these two vibes absolutely perfectly. It’s the untouchable MAURICE FULTON! His last set for Picnic, back in 2010 at Gilligan’s, will always go down as one of the all time greatest Sydney parties. We still talk about it on the reg and we’ve been desperate for the sequel ever since. From explosive disco to entrancing house and techno, Fulton draws you unbelievably deep into his musical moment. The vast range of styles he’s created in the studio should give you an idea of the epic breadth of his sound: from the twisted nu-jazz jams of Syclops to the dusty weirdness of Stress to the all-encompassing eclectic brilliance of BOOF, his many names and projects all share an undefinable common thread that’s distinctly Maurice. He’s a straight up genius, both as a producer and a DJ, and he’s COMING BACK TO PICNIC! YES. Not only do we have Mr. Fulton, but we’ll also be rounding up a whole bunch of local heroes to play across the Chippo’s two floors:
