We first started out back in 2007 as a Sunday day party at The Lounge, eventually putting on parties at other venues in Leeds such as The Faversham, Canal Mills and of course, Full Circle.
Over the years we’ve had some memorable and hazy nights including our 14 hour NYD marathons at The Faversham, Dixon’s first Leeds gig with us at Wire and the first time Move D came to Wire and tore the roof off.
Not forgetting the huge nights we’ve had at Canal Mills with Four Tet, Daphni and the Innervisions crew, our first party at Full Circle with Julio Bashmore and Floating Points and when we used The Garage (before it was The Garage) for our 5th birthday afterparty with Axel Boman going on until 10am.
We’ve been lucky enough to book everyone we wanted to, from Four Tet to Tim Sweeney, Theo Parrish to Kassem Mosse, Levon Vincent to MCDE and NYD has always been such a huge event in the calendar for us so it seemed a perfect time and a perfect way to finish our time in Leeds.
To celebrate our last dance in our favourite northern city, we’ve invited friends old and new with Nina Kraviz, John Talabot and Feel My Bicep taking over the main room. Whilst our trusty residents Matt, Brad and Paul will be holding it down in Room 2 all night alongside our good friend Midland. One of Midland’s first ever sets was with us on NYD 2010 so we just had to have him back down one last time.
It wouldn’t be a proper mono_cult celebration without an afterparty planned and as it’s our last afters in Leeds, we’ve invited some very special guests down to carry on the party. Stay tuned for more info…
Finally, a huge thanks to everyone who has partied and danced with us over the years and a special thanks to all our staff, DJs, promo team, residents and everyone who has worked and been a part of the_cult x
