Moritz von Oswald, legendary master of electronic experimentalism and technical exactitude, has an unassailable place in the modern history of forward-thinking music. Our party with him last year was by far one of our favourites, with a real carnival atmosphere all night long at Dance Tunnel. We just had to get him back, but this time decided to challenge him to step away from just the dancefloor with two performances – one for feet and one for heads. What he came back with totally blew us away – we're insanely excited to announce the world premiere of a new project – 'Moritz von Oswald presents Development - A Dark Poème Électronique' at the Yard Theatre in Hackney Wick on Saturday October 22nd. This event will run across the theatre, starting from 8pm, with an after-party running in the main club space from 11pm to an extended close at 5am.
Support in the theatre comes from The Chi Factory's Hanyo van Oosterom (loops, keys) and Eniless (loops turntables), performing 'Mantramusic' – a collage of improvised soundscapes and turnatablism. Based upon the notions of instant composition, random sampling, beautiful mistakes and accidental thinking and rooted in the scriptures of Inayat Khan and the Atharvaveda, this absolutely is not something to be missed.
Moritz will also be playing an extended set at the afterparty, with support on the dancefloor coming from AI regulars Ario and o.utlier.
Space is extremely limited so we must and will be giving priority to those who want to attend both the theatre show and the club event, a total of 10 hours. See you there!!!
