Expect a warm and rhythmic sound, brought to you by artists with ages of experience in searching, selecting and creating the finest dancemusic. —— Banlieue, the Amsterdam club concept with a heart for musical (r)evolutions, returns to the notorious Bovenkamer to present another off-centred ADE showcase. Where in the previous years the New York based avant-garde record labels, L.I.E.S (2015) and Minimal Wave (2016), presented the label’s finest at Banlieue’s own suburb in Amsterdam West, it’s now time for the London based Diagonal imprint to set the pace. The English label excels in minimalistic, humorous aesthetics but is even more famous for their provocative and uncompromising sound. As Resident Advisor puts it: label boss Powell belongs to a very small pool of dance artists whose music is a style in itself.
