Resonance is back in business for our fourth instalment, this time going really, proper 'ard.
Who better to invite along then, than a DJ whose sound is synonymous with floor-rattling kicks, chunky drum workouts and a distinctive UK flair.
J. Tijn [Bedouin / In An Instant / WNCL]
J. Tijn cut his production teeth making grime and dubstep (on his Playstation, no less), an influence that has gone on to inform his later techno tunes - Discogs lurkers will know his “MOR” and “Sliema Sixteen” EPs on Arabian label Bedouin have been tagged as both techno and grime, while “Exit 7”, his collaboration with UK mainstay Randomer, places classic eski sample amidst huge techno kicks.
After christening Untold's Pennyroyal imprint in 2013, Tijn's most recent offerings have displayed more of an electro tip, with crushed 808s and skittering hi hats galore. This breadth of styles is blended seamlessly in his mixes, with Tijn unafraid to drop dubstep or grime amongst all out techno warfare.
