STRØM is the festival in Copenhagen for electronic music. Actually, not a traditional festival, but rather a selection of the best and strongest purveyors of electronic music on the Copenhagen event scene, which has evolved heavily over the last years.
**Please notice, that the above standing line up is just for the two main stages located in Enghaveparken! Strøm takes place all over Copenhagen in various venues and locations, and the complete line up of the festival will be expanded and revealed over the next couple of months. **
As for the booking of artists, STRØM collects some of the most progressive eventmakers, dj’s and bookers in Copenhagen at the moment. Strøm’s booking-core 2009 counts Rosa Batzer (aka. DJ Rosa Lux), Frederik Birket-Smith (aka. DJ 2000F, Ohoi!), Thomas Knak (aka. Opiate), Carl Emil Amundsen (Electronic Tuesdays), Georg Rasmussen (Vega), Pernille Krog Mogensen (pernillepernille) and Niels Træden.
In 2008 more than 20.000 people visited the more than 16 venues and 112 concerts taking place in different venues counting everything from churches, clubs and public spaces, with two main stages in the Vesterbro-area of Copenhagen holding up to 7.000 people. Genres like dubstep, blip blop, wonky, electronica, ambient,
techno, minimal, drum’n’bass, hip hop, electro, you name it was represented and will be again this year - and you are invited.
