The Pickle Factory celebrates its 2nd Birthday on 10th November with a truly special 10 hour party. Our resident Evan Baggs returns, for a marathon b2b session with Hessle Audio boss, and one of the most revered DJs of a generation - Ben UFO. Support comes from the minds and record bags behind The Pickle Factory and Oval Space's in-house programming, Toby Nicholas and Hamish Cole.
Few DJs share the worldwide acclaim of Ben UFO. A true dance music chameleon, Ben collects and mixes every type of dance music, as adept playing old-skool jungle with SP:MC, as he is going toe-to-toe with Zip for a stripped back house and techno marathon. Together with close friends Pearson Sound and Pangaea, he formed Hessle Audio out of a terraced house in Leeds 10 years ago. None of the three have looked back since, releasing and creating pioneering takes on techno that have spearheaded a new wave of UK producers. But Ben UFO is unique - unlike the others, he is just a DJ and digger, forming his global fame out of no more or less than his flawless technique, genre-moulding selections, and deep collection of dance music bombs in all styles, rhythms and textures.
He's joined by another purist DJ that's close to our hearts, our inimitable resident Evan Baggs. Evan is also an elastic DJing presence, whose most recent b2b in London, with Leon Vynehall and Ryan Eliot, shows his range. But Evan is at his best showcasing his truly sublime record collection in a small club such as Pickle. Evan's music touches on everything from banging 90s tech house, to oddball electro, early Dutch proggy soundscapes, Golden Era Detroit techno, and much more besides, all strung together with trademark flow and elegance. Ben and Evan are the perfect DJs to ring in two years of in-house programming we are immensely proud of. Here's to many more.
