TRNSGNDR/VHS (Halcyon Veil, Discwoman)
The Baltimore/NYC-based artist Alexandra Brandon takes up noise music as a form of protest with her TRNSGNDR/VHS project. Her mixes for abstract club label Halcyon Veil and female producer collective Discwoman are challenging but therapeutic exercises in feminist/post-colonial sound art that draw from a disparate range of club/experimental sonics. Brandon's music critiques socialized conceptions of gender/queer/racial identity and constructs its own fiercely feminine narrative that emphasizes self-love, openness and transformation.

Così e Così (LP Release Show)
The confounding Montréal-based drone-poet (f.k.a. No Exist) will be debuting material from his ambitious double LP 'Impermanence in the Time of Heavens.' After the journey of self-loss/discovery/rebirth that was the saga of No Exist, Così has returned with some of his most expansive work to date. His signature, auto-tune-inflected, stream-of-consciousness poetry and abstract electronica passages have reached a point of catharsis, effectively nostalgizing fleeting moments in time and embracing the liberation of impermanence.

Kristel Jax's multifaceted pop concretè sound project has always centred around constructions of femininity and the power of emotional honesty. Her Drone Therapy sessions and live perfomances break down the wall between performer and audience, establishing an open dialogue. We are invited to engage with her art and her psyche as she deconstructs the tropes of female identity, cycling between tender sensitivity and brash intensity. Or as Mechanical Forest Sound so succintly put it, "crooning like Lana Del Rey while aggressively pacing the floor like Pharmakon."

Girls Rituals
The Toronto-based cyber-pop/queercore artist Girls Rituals makes ecstatic, imaginative electronica for outsiders. Her songs sound at once whimsical but apathetic with #nofilter lyrics that could double as tumblr posts. Girls Rituals channels the open-book sensibility of the Internet generation from a transfeminine perspective, a singular voice providing equal amounts of inspiration and commiseration.
