成长于Techno发源地底特律西南部西班牙裔街区的Rolando, 从小就受到拉丁文化的熏染。受其音乐家父亲的影响，对音乐持有浓厚的兴趣。
底特律这座城市的工业气质，加上他个人的拉丁背景，这两种气质的相互碰撞，造就了他独特的个人风格。
1994年，他通过朋友认识了Mike banks，加入了“臭名昭著”的传奇厂牌 Underground Resistance。1999年UR发布了或许是Techno历史上最伟大的EP之一： The Aztec Mystic A.K.A DJ Rolando - The Knights of The Jaguar，融合了拉丁风情，激昂弦乐的Techno作品，一出世便爆炸式的传播开来。受到了底特律英雄Derrick May， Jeff Mills，Carl Cox，Paul Oakenfold, Gilles Peterson的大力推广，甚至一度登上了英国单曲榜前列。
十五年里, 不断有人在这首作品的基础上制作混音版本, 横跨各种曲风。由于唱片的极度成功，甚至引起了主流唱片巨头Sony-BMG的注意，也由此引发了著名的UR VS SONY的激烈官司。最终，在全球歌迷的支持下，坚持独立音乐的UR获得了胜利。即使到了18年后的今天，这张EP依然是UR有史以来销量最高，最为成功的唱片。
2014年Rolando建立了自己的厂牌R3（Roland Rocha Records），专门发行自己的作品。 并继续在Ostgut Ton, MDR( Marcel Dettmann的个人厂牌)，Delsin等知名厂牌下发表音乐。Rolando至今仍活跃在电子舞曲世界的最前线，包括柏林传奇俱乐部Berghain，以及大受赞赏的巴黎Rex Club。

Although not his first release on UR, 1999’s 'Jaguar' turned perceptions of Techno on their head, breaking into other genres of dance music and becoming a classic in the boxes of DJs such as Tenaglia, Morillo, Oakenfold, and Gilles Peterson.
The track has a long legacy of reworking and lives on fifteen years later inspiring audiences from all genres. From there, found the Los Hermanos project with Gerald Mitchell while touring the world as a respected solo DJ and community leader.
In 2014, Rolando launched his own label R3 ( Roland Rocha Records) to exclusively release his own music. He holds residencies at the enigmatic Berghain in Berlin and legendary Rex Club in Paris, all while producing fresh music for R3 and remixes for labels like MDR and Ostgut Ton. His seminal sounds will continue to be heard on dancefloors worldwide to come.
