Manfredas has been a cult figure in the Lithuanian scene for a while now, being the organizer of the club night “SMALA” which happens regularly at Opium club in Vilnius. A big part of the charm of the nights he puts up is the way the energy builds throughout the night where nothing seems rushed. There is no particular genre of music they are fixed to, having had artists like Vladimir Ivkovic playing the weirdest tunes possible and the next night having someone like Silent Servant (Official) with totally industrial sounds. The sets Manfredas plays really reflect this diversity as well and whatever surprises come out of the sound system it’s definitely not going to be boring. His style is definitely well respected among his peers having been part of nights curated by acts like ACID ARAB or Red Axes. If you haven’t checked his soundcloud page before, you’re in for a treat as he has a very active presence there. It seems his desire to share amazing music goes beyond the club walls. This is also evident in the fact that he doesn’t shy away from playing small underground parties in dirty basements even though he has played at huge events like Burning Man. Et Andet Sted will fit his style just perfectly!
Carsten Jensen is a resident DJ at Et Andet Sted. His eclectic and versatile style allowed him to fit right into the very diverse line-ups the club has had so far. He has played anything from warm-ups, after-hours or peak time sets here where he displayed a beautiful collection of music from old-school acid house or hypnotic industrial electronics to obscure disco cuts and 80s inspired wave. Let’s see what he pulls out of his bag along Manfredas and Untitled Tricks.
Untitled Tricks is made up of a bunch of djs and producers who have been doing parties at various venues in Copenhagen for a couple of years now. They have put up very diverse nights with artists like: Black Merlin, Phuong-Dan, JUNE, Sacha Mambo, JASSS, Morah or Scientific Dreamz of U, to name just a few. Their music focus is anything from acid techno or wave to EBM, industrial, weird disco gems and even the occasional italo tunes. It’s more about the common influences and emotions the music holds rather than sticking to a fixed genre.
Besides organizing and DJing at parties some of the people behind Untitled Tricks have also been putting up some killer music this past year. Konsistent, who will be DJing on the night, has been featured with a sick track in the latest Eine Welt compilation as well as having released a great record earlier in the year together with one of Copenhagen’s top record diggers, Nixxon, on the French label Macadam Mambo.
