RSVP-admittance only. -------------------------------- For the past two years, Work in Progress has been showcasing forward-thinking local & international femme / queer talent in our beloved home city of Toronto. We are excited to join hands with a couple of old friends under a new venture, Verse, to bring you a very special guest for a very special celebration. Brooklyn-based Octo Octa has had a celebrated six-years-and-counting career as a DJ, live performer, and producer of timeless American house music. As a trans artist who courageously transitioned in the public eye, she has also become a fearless champion for dance music's queer and inclusive roots. Since 2015, she's performed two sold-out shows in Toronto to crowds of adoring and teary-eyed dancers (yes I cried the first time I saw her live). We can't wait to welcome her back, and we just had to invite one of our favourite local DJs, Jaime Sin, to join in on the celebration. I'm still trying to get over Jaime's immense opening set at Powder over the summer, & we're all dying to hear what fresh grooves she has up her sleeves for this one. This event, with the generous support of Absolut Vodka, will be donating half of all proceeds to support The 519 and all of the great work they do for Toronto's queer and trans community, with the remaining half going to covering the costs of running the party. Absolut supports inclusive nightlife communities and the causes they care about to help create a better tomorrow, tonight. There will be no advance tickets and no comps, only $10 at the door all night long with Facebook RSVP. This means if you'd like to attend, you must click ATTENDING (INTERESTED will not work) to have your name added to a guestlist at the door. IF YOU DO NOT CLICK ATTENDING, your name will not be on the list and you will not be given entry.
