With high praise from his collaborators Action Bronson, Earl Sweatshirt, The Alchemist, and Flying Lotus, Sam Baker aka Samiyam’s independent beat tape ventures and instrumental albums are revered by rappers and respected by producers.
Since self-releasing his debut album Rap Beats Vol. 1 in 2008, Sam has been on a sharp upward trajectory in the west coast beat scene, with seminal labels Brainfeeder and Stones Throw both supporting his subsequent releases.
With other co signs from the likes of Pharoahe Monch and Captain Murphy, Sam’s latest tape Pizza Party on Stones Throw has reasserted his status as the alt hip-hop scene’s go to producer.
