Binh
Binh Nguyen keeps a low profile, but he's currently one of the key names in house and techno. A popular DJ and respected producer with longstanding ties to influential institutions such as Club der Visionaere and Perlon, Binh embodies a hard-working, ego-free approach to DJing that's hard to find in dance music today. Raised in Düsseldorf but now based in Berlin, Binh's been a committed record digger for more than a decade—a trait that defines his much-loved sound. Just like the food he grew up cooking in his family's restaurants, there are two simple things behind Binh's success: timeless ingredients and an artful touch.
Years of obsessive searching and frequent extended spells behind the decks—which include countless stints at his well-known Noon residency at Club der Visionaere—have made Binh a leader in a hard-to-define scene centred on deep digging, playing vinyl and long DJ sets.
Binh's part of a small but respected circle of DJs known for their laid-back approach to promotion, slick technique and, most importantly, an endless supply of forgotten bombs. Plucked from the depths of techno, electro and house of decades past, there's a good chance that whenever you're on the dance floor when Binh drops a track, that's the only time you're ever going to hear it. An accomplished producer, too, Binh has put out records on Cabaret Records, Perlon, My Own Jupiter, the project Treatment and his own Time Passages label.
Time Passages was founded in 2014. It specialises in stripped-back house and techno, supplied by a small roster of close friends and associates. Trippy, party-friendly and built for crystal-clear sound systems and intimate dance floors, it's music you need to seek out—it won't come to you.
Gwenan
Gwenan discovered dance music one night in 2007 and has never looked back. After pestering a housemate to dig his old Gemini decks out of the attic, her first experiences of DJing were weekends spent playing records with friends on her rooftop in a shabby corner of Oxford. After a few years as a Londoner, dancing and playing at parties including Undersound, Toi Toi, and her own HiFi, as well as gigs overseas in Paris, Ljubljana, and as far afield as Tokyo, Gwenan's path has recently led her to Berlin, where she is attempting to take all this a bit more seriously.
While techno is her first love, Gwenan can occasionally be found playing ambient and experimental records for projects including Experiment Intrinsic, Perm, and My Own Jupiter.
Nadsat
Representing Catch recordings we have co founder Nadsat.
Catch Recordings is an electronic music record label, owned and run by Brett Osbourne (Nadsat) and Rob Chadwick. Exploring the diverse sounds of techno and electronic music their releases are pressed to 320 limited edition copies with tailored designed artwork to fit with the concept.
Now in their 5th year, the label, who will celebrate with a UK tour this year has drafted in acts to their events and imprint right across the board. These include Call Super, Cosmin TRG, Binh, Christian Loffler, Interstellar Funk, Solar, Literon, lORI, Harri & Domenic, Ste Roberts, Lo Shea, Doubtingthomas, Christian Loffler, Inter Gritty, Manuel Tur, Olerton, Nadsat, Blacpoint, Kristian K and HOROS.
We are really pleased to welcome Catch to the party and look forward very much to hearing Nadsat represent this UK label's sound for us!
