- Due to unforeseen personal medical circumstances, it is with a heavy heart we announce that Toumani Diabaté will no longer be performing alongside groundbreaking electronic composer Tipper. We realize that a 71st generation Malian kora master and legend is irreplaceable, but we are honored to announce that we've found another legend whom Toumani has championed and worked closely with. Derek Gripper's widely acclaimed African Strings Project (featuring John Bashengezi from the Congo and Kinobe from Uganda) will be performing original, contemporary and traditional material from the mother continent, while it celebrates the astonishing beauty and diversity of Africa's immense contribution to human expression, art and culture.
