krankbrother presents: Tangerine Dream

  • The iconic Tangerine Dream return to London for their first UK show since 2014, and their first London date since the tragic death of the band’s founder, Edgar Froese. Undoubtedly one of the most pioneering electronic bands of the past 50 years, Tangerine Dream have released over one hundred albums (not counting compilations and fan releases) over the last four decades. Following Froese’s death, the group's remaining members (Thorsten Quaeschning, Ulrich Schnauss, and Hoshiko Yamane and Froese's widow Bianca Acquaye) pledged to continue working together in an effort to fulfill Edgar's vision for the group. Their most recent album Quantum Gate was released in September 2017 to wide critical acclaim, coinciding with the 50-year anniversary of the founding of the band. The album is based on ideas and musical sketches by founder Edgar Froese, and was completed by the remaining members of the band. The show will take place in the special surroundings of The Union Chapel in Islington - an iconic venue worthy of an iconic band. NB: Please note that there is no reserved seating at The Union Chapel, so the earlier you arrive, the better choice of seating you will have.
