Chem Club with Florian Kupfer, Privacy & More

  • RA PICK
  • Privacy has been putting out jaw-dropping electro tracks over the past few years. Step out for his Bay Area debut supporting L.I.E.S. affiliate Florian Kupfer.
  • Welcome to Chem Club, a record label, a party, an after school science experiment. From the same people that brought you The Shuffle Co-Op parties, Chem Club will be focusing on one off events featuring artists that can't be defined by one style but remain committed to the dance floor.  First up, we're excited to host Florian Kupfer, an artist who saw immediate success with his early releases on L.I.E.S starting in 2013, he continues to innovate and cross boundaries with his releases, pulling from techno, house, electro, ambient and breakbeat primarily. His tape saturated style has brought on many copycats in recent years, but the feeling to his music can’t be matched. (https://soundcloud.com/kupfer) Next is Privacy, staying true to his name, little is known about this artist other than his exceptional skill in the studio (and behind the decks) has led him to release on labels like Lobster Theremin, Klasse Wrecks and Steffi & Dexter's mostly electro label, Klakson. Producing some of the most infectious records we've heard in a while, we can wait to hear what he pulls out of his bag. (https://soundcloud.com/privacyprivacy) Opening the main room will be none other than main man, SF's own, Sepehr. A quickly rising SF based artist with many dope releases under his belt already. If you've seen him play than you already know what type of energy to expect from him. No further explanation needed. (https://soundcloud.com/sepehr-a) In the backroom, we're happy to have Chem Club artist Maroje T (aka Remora) flying in from NY to grace us with his sleazy take on distorted techno, electro, wave, and any other off kilter style you can think of. His other releases on Pinkman and Kraftjerkz aint no joke either. (https://soundcloud.com/maroje-1) Also in the back room is another SF based artist who's most definitely on the rise with her busy gigging schedule, Diacritic Collective member, Lily Ackerman. Lily seems to be playing everywhere lately, from the main room at Public Works to casually spinning records from the front window at Vinyl Dreams. Expect dubby atmospheres and ambient leanings.
