Felix Weatherall aka Ross From Friends is a leading figure in the emergent lo-fi scene, which has evolved from an online community of fresh-faced producers into a palpable underground phenomenon.
Hailing from Colchester, Weatherall grew up on a diet of late 80s Hi-NRG and Italo disco dance music under the influence of his Dad, who would travel with a soundsystem and DJ parties wherever he could. “My Dad's really big into dance music in a really big way,” as he puts it. Inspired by the sharp synthesisers, driving drum machines and positive moods of the music, he’s been making music in various forms from a young age.
Inspiration for Ross From Friends comes from all corners of the musical milieu. From early experimental music to hip-hop sampling - even 80s Eurobeat and Hi-NRG helps to make up the comprehensive sound palette that Ross has the liberty of drawing from.
With releases on Lobster Theremin and sub-label Distant Hawaii and Magicwire and more in the works, expect 2018 to be another big year.
Ross from friends will be playing live as a 3 piece (including Guitar, Saxophone & keys) and is something not to be missed!

Urulu ~ USA
Urulu, real name Taylor Freels, is a California boy through and through. With an innate talent for sunny, contemplative chords and clever drum programming, he quickly caught the ear of Berlin's Dirt Crew, known for releases by Mano Le Tough and Detroit Swindle. He'd go on to drop critically acclaimed releases on respected imprints such as NYC's Let's Play House as well as tastemaking UK outlets such as Needwant and Shabby Doll. Freels is also a beast on the decks, armed with the chutzpah to mix gnarlier Detroit and Chicago emanations with modern, envelope-pushing modern house sounds. To that end, he's gathered a tight-knit group of producers for his own label Amadeus, a home which aims to bring it all together. With his label, he's working with Auckland-based scene stormers Chaos In The Cbd, LA house zoners Sage Caswell and Cromie and fellow Berlin ex-pat Steve Huerta. As 2015 draws to a close, Urulu is preparing to launch a new EP for Melbourne mainstay Andy Hart's Voyage Recordings and a couple of new projects with which he can indulge in the dubbed-out club sounds he's become enamored with while living in Berlin, as well as the synth-driven disco and boogie sounds which were a constant in his California upbringing.
