Berlin Pres Ritter Butzke in Brighton with Tigerskin, Baal & Matthias Schuell

  • After a cracking start to the new year in January we continue with a huge showcase in March. Ritter Butzke is one of Berlin's best known clubs and we are bringing their very own showcase to Brighton by featuring a selection of their top residents. Wowzers! The club Ritter Butzke Ritter Butzke is located on the ground floor of a former factory in Kreuzberg. It began as an illegal club in 2007, but went official two years later. The venue has three main dance floors, plus an outdoor courtyard that's open in the summer. The DJs and the crowd are most often Berliners. This dimly-lit huge club is always bursting at the seams and is hidden away in a large complex of buildings on Moritzplatz. It has certainly achieved legendary fame in the city and worldwide. Tigerskin Born and bred in Berlin and one of the big fishes in electronic scene waters. His alias Dub Taylor is known for the more dubbier influenced side of techno, Tigerskin is best know for his releases on labels like Dessous, Suol, Katermukke, Mood Music, Defected, Exploited, Dirt Crew Rec or his own Organic Domain imprint. Some of his tracks were licensed to Mix CD’s like Steve Bugs Bugnology, Slams Sci Fi Hi Fi 5 or Ministry of Sound’s “Clubbers Guide to Berlin”. Regular Brazil, US/CAN and Russia Tours are regular highlights besides playing all around Europe. His uncountable exceptional live performances have become legendary to many. With more than 20 years in the business and a huge catalogue of releases, Tigerskin is also a typical Berlin music activist and is a firm crowd favourite and resident at Ritter Butzke. BAAL The ambivalent, Hebrew word "BAAL" is a hint to the spiritual background of the two Munich (now Berlin based) artists Matthias Dräxler and Matthias Schüll. The direct translation of "BAAL" is "Lord". The term is used to address God in the Bible but can also refer to false gods or demons. It is up to the listener whether they want to focus on the dark power of the devil or the epic glory of God in the music of BAAL. Cool stuff right? We're super excited for or should we be scared? Even so we're in for an amazing musical journey. DJ Markus Saarländer Your German resident and founder of Berlin - Brighton is back as always to take you on a journey through the Berlin Underground.
