Quo Vadis welcomes back Rainforest Spiritual Enslavement after their US debut during the Hospital Productions 20-Year Anniversary Fest. This time for an epic one and a half hour set. Joining them is OLD TOWER, for his debut US show, Ames Sanglantes and Hospital Productions Head Nurse Becka Diamond.

~~~ Rainforest Spiritual Enslavement ~~~
Hospital Productions head Dominick Fernow is renowned for crafting gruesome sonic textures. With Rainforest Spiritual Enslavement, he combines his experimental approach with an equatorial mindset. The rhythm-forward project favors naturalistic samples and percussion inspired by South America and Southeast Asia, alongside undulating drones meant to conjure a lurking malevolence.
As Rainforest Spiritual Enslavement, Fernow provided a “synthetic field recording” sound installation at the Adelaide Botanic Garden for the 2017 Unsound Festival. Of Ambient Black Magic, his seventh and latest LP under the moniker, Resident Advisor writes, “Fernow maps human fear and stress onto the scarier parts of the natural world, a place where everything sounds dark and desolate.... It's as unsettling as anything Fernow, a longtime noise artist, has ever done.”
~~~ OLD TOWER (USA Debut) ~~~
Like smoke rising from a cursed pyre, OLD TOWER’s bellowing lo-fi synths are the echo of an ancient brutality. The project is helmed by an entity known as The Specter, a being thought to reside in Arnhem, Netherlands. Mystic tambours, sinister harmonies, and resonant drones are The Specter’s stock and trade, vibrations built for confined torture chambers and expansive necropoli.
Last year saw the release of OLD TOWER’s The Rise of the Specter, which swirl of noise called “some of the best produced, most atmospheric and well-intentioned dungeon-synth I’ve ever heard.” February 9th marks the arrival of the Stellary Wisdom EP, OLD TOWER’s first release on compact disc. March 24th will be the first apparition of OLD TOWER on US soil.

A curator of the highest order, Becka Diamond is a prodigy selector, weaving sonic narratives out of everything from relentless minimal tech to haunting ambient to punchy post-punk. Apart from dominating the decks as far off as Portugal and Germany, Diamond serves as the Head Nurse at Hospital Productions, ensuring that a steady pulse of outlandish vibrations pumps through the veins of the underground.
