One of the most successful artists to emerge from the depths of Naples, Deborah De Luca returns to Egg LDN for Familia’s May instalment accompanied by New York’s own Layton Giordani and the rapidly rising, Berlin-based producer, Weska.
The dedication of Deborah de Luca both in the production studio and DJ booth cannot be underestimated. Working her way up from the position of a dancer in Neapolitan clubs to an internationally renowned selector and producer didn’t come easy for De Luca. As a fiercely independent character who heads up her own schedule and time management, the Italian artist has spent well over ten years crafting a clean cut sound in techno which has taken her to Australia, Germany, Romania, Brazil, and the U.S and many more far-flung locations. Her strong work ethic continues to shine with releases on Funk ’n Deep, Driving Forces, Unity and her own Sola Mente label, making her Egg LDN return a highly anticipated event on Familia’s agenda.
A solid affiliate of Adam Beyer’s Drumcode imprint, Layton Giordani returns after the success of his whopping 12 track album ‘Where it Begins’ released on the label last year, swiftly followed by another DC production ’Live Again’ alongside the legendary Danny Tenaglia. Armed with an infectious and innovative sound that’s gained support from the likes of Carl Cox, John Digweed and Len Faki, the flourishing producer is set to soar this year with plenty more projects on the pipeline for 2018.
Featured as DJ Mag’s One to Watch earlier on this year, Weska’s profile has grown considerably in the electronic music industry. Laying down the foundations to a long-running career in music, the Toronto-born artist has already worked alongside Coyu and Pleasurekraft, creating a bright, melodic sound which earned him a residency at Eric Prydz’ Tuesday night event at Hï Ibiza last summer. At just 25 years old, Weska will undoubtedly progress worldwide in the coming months with his Egg LDN debut set to be the first of many more celebrated shows in store for the burgeoning producer.
Output resident DESNA's current release on Octopus Recordings has been making waves in the download charts and coincides with her returns to Familia after her first appearance in October of last year
