Hot Creations co-founder and soul-infused melody maker Lee Foss returns to Fridays at Egg alongside Manchester’s latest emerging talent, Mason Maynard.
Over the last decade, Lee Foss has crafted a warm sound which merges sultry house with bright, soul-laden grooves with unearthly flashes of dissonance, resulting in an attraction to Mars and other-worldly antics which are subtly illustrated throughout his tracks. The Chicago native has released on an amalgam of high credited labels including his own aptly named imprint ‘Repopulate Mars’, Emerald City Music, Defected and lots more. Infiltrating the pop mainstream since his breakthrough track ‘Benediction’ - co-produced with his Hot Natured crew of Jamie Jones, Luca C and Ali Love - Foss has since pushed forward and taken on his own sonic endeavours. Focusing on connecting with his audience through melody, harmony and a certain eeriness to keep things typically unpredictable, Foss’s selections are much like the man himself - engaging, colourful and intriguing from beginning to end.
Tooted as ‘One to Watch’ by the likes of Monki and Solardo, Mason Maynard is a Solardo Sessions resident and since gone on to win over Patrick Topping, Hannah Wants, Hot Since 82 and lots more with his library of chunky house selects and deft mixing skills. With previous releases on Relief Records, Sola and of course Repopulate Mars, the combination of Foss and Maynard is set to bring a blissful session of rapturous melodies to Kings Cross until the early hours.
