Local tech-house and techno night Loosekaboose makes it debut at Civic Underground on August 28th, home of Australia’s finest sound system renowned for it's crisp, clear sound. This party will feature one of Australia’s finest DJs, Mike Callander, owner of Melbourne Record Label, Haul Music. After many attempts to book Mike for Loosekaboose with no avail due to his extremely busy gig calendar, we are honoured to finally have Mike playing a headline slot at our party. Support on the night includes Future Classics Jimi Polar and Jamie Lloyd playing a b2b session, Sydney institution Robbie Lowe [Thug Records] following Mike at the early hours of the morning, plus Loosekaboose residents Trinity and Claire Morgan.

Hailing from Melbourne, Mike Callander has been labelled one of Australia's finest DJ’s - most notably by Get Physical Musics, DJ T. Having toured as far a field as Berlin, Los Angeles, Madrid and Malaysia playing alongside artists such as Mathew Jonson, Michael Mayer, Radioslave, Agoria, M.A.N.D.Y, Mr C, Stacey Pullen, Booka Shade, Luciano, SuperMayer, Locodice and Lindstrom, Mike’s experience as a DJ is as diverse as one of his DJ sets. With a unique and edgy sound, and a versatile approach to mixing and programming, Mike is one of Melbourne's only DJs who might play to a house, techno or progressive dancefloor on any given night.
Having recently launched his new label “Haul Music” alongside Christian Vance and Craig McWhinney, Mike’s latest release, Drone, has had heavy local and industry support. The new track, which Mike will be playing at our night, has been described as ‘sailing a slow-paced techno pirate ship somewhere off the coast of Tasmania, drop the anchor DEEP. Drone is all about the late-night cruise into the abyss and trying to dance your way out’. Sounds wicked! Mike also has further productions and remixes to various labels such as Junkbeats (one of Loosekaboose’s fav labels) and Freakshow Disco Productions.

Jimi and Jamie have been played at some of the biggest major festivals in Sydney with raving reviews from the Sounds Festival, Playground Weekender, The Great Escape, Pete's Ridge, Surry Hills Festival and Earthdance. The lads have also been regular guests for the best-known underground party in Sydney, Mad Racket, performing alongside Jamie Lidell and Greg Wilson and have supported acts such as James Lavelle, Copenhagen's Who Made Who, Supermayer (Kompakt), Alex Kidd (F-Communications), Fred Everything (Lazydays), Kruder and Dorfmeister (G-Stone), Darshan Jesrani (Metro Area - New York) and Felix Dickinson (San Francisco). J & J have been playing at Loosekaboose since 2007, they’ve played solo sets for us, b2b sets, live sets, DJ sets, and also a very memorable gig with Dave Basek. They are a permanent fixture at our night and we are honoured and to have them play for us again for this party.

We are very excited have Robbie back for his second installment at Loosekaboose. Robbie, undoubtedly one of Australia’s most talented and respected DJ’s, has warmed up so many of the internationals that have ever braced our shores. Robbie has been given props by some of the biggest names in dance music today, including John Digweed, Hernan Cattaneo, James Zabiela, Danny Howells and also Paulo Mojo who quoted ‘Robbie is an intelligent, skilful, sensitive lover.
