Both as a DJ and a producer, Patrick Gräser aka Answer Code Request has honed a hybrid musical approach that stands out in a world of uniform 4/4 techno. Melding pad-driven harmonies, intricate breaks and an industrial sonic palette, Gräser has occupied a unique space within the Ostgut Ton cosmos since debuting on the label in 2012 and becoming a Berghain resident shortly thereafter. His various releases and remixes for Ostgut Ton, MDR, Dolly Deluxe and Monkeytown Records continue to be highly sought after. As a DJ, he has taken his bass- and breaks-heavy techno to clubs and festivals around the globe, while remaining an integral part of the Berlin scene.
Black Asteroid
Black Asteroid is Bryan Black. Former engineer for Prince, one half of the critically acclaimed MOTOR, DJ, producer, live performer. Black is a force of electronic power and precision whose current incarnation as Black Asteroid sees the auteur in his most decisive campaign to date. Weapons such as 2011’s “The Engine EP” (CLR), 2012’s “Black Acid EP” (Electric Deluxe) and remixes for Depeche Mode and Rick Owens have set a new and uncompromising standard with their otherworldly sounds and shapes.
Black Asteroid has brought his explosive DJ and live sets to events including a sold-out 12,000 capacity Palazzi Dei Congressi in Rome, Melkweg for Amsterdam Dance Event, Mysteryland festival, Berghain, Ageha, Fabric and many more.
2014 will see the release of his debut full-length album, with Black embarking on his most extensive and far-reaching tours to date.
PROXY
Russian producer PROXY has made a name for himself over the last decade as a mysterious maestro comfortable with creating unusual and inexplicably extraordinary beats. His strangely spellbinding sound has commanded dance floors all over the world.
As a performer PROXY has achieved regular success internationally, with high profile shows and largest festivals dating back nearly a decade: Coachella, EDC Las Vegas, I love Techno, Creamfields, Hard Summer, Electric Zoo and many more.
Proxy’s signature sound is as dark as it is beautiful. Without losing the modernity of his production, Proxy includes the raw sounds that inundated bass scene. His engagement in such reconstruction has resulted in an experimental sound atypical to EDM’s current scene. It’s hallmarked with futuristic vibes, razor-sharp hooks, hypnotic breakdowns, and jagged synths.
PROXY has also worked with Prodigy, Marilyn Manson, Moby, Peaches, Tiga, Boys Noize, and many others. He asserts, “My music tells you what to do, but never why. Your ear may be afraid, but your body completes its labour.”
