Rhythm Section with Reggie Dokes & Bradley Zero (Private Party Byob)

  • After 2 hugely successful and wonderfully deep events in the LNCC basement last year with Volcov and Kai Alce, we return to the private Dalston venue for another Detroit inspired get down. Continuing the theme of soulful house music that fits so well in this intimate space - we invite Atlanta based, Detroit Native REGGIE DOKES - one of the unsung heroes of midwest deep house, for a session in the basement. Just like Last time, this is a BYOB event, more info on that below. * please read* Reggie Dokes makes his way across the Atlantic to play on LN-CC’s audiophile four-point soundsystem. Reggie’s music has been a corner stone of countless Rhythm Sections ever since Ruf Dug dropped ‘Rain Redemption’ in the early days of the dance in the Pool Hall. Representing the likes of Royal Oak, Clone, We Play House Records and of course his very own Psychostasia Recordings, Reggie imbues his productions with an ethereal, other worldly quality, using live instrumentation alongside electronic elements to create a totally unique sound Referencing the judgement that souls faced when entering the ancient Egyptian Underworld, Reggies own label ‘ Psychotasia’ has established itself as a fine purveyor of afro-futurustic dance music since 2001; releasing killer works from Dubbyman, Juju & Jordash and many of his own EPs and Albums. We can’t wait for a true unsung hero and American dance music legend to join us in the booth. *** THE VENUE *** (important - please read) Once again, we’re crossing the river for a one-off special at LN-CC, Dalston. This is a private, boutique, 200 capacity basement nightclub on Shacklewell lane that’s part of a bigger complex of art, music and fashion. Unlike any other shop in London (or maybe the world!) the venue has it’s own club. It’s a blacked out, acoustically treated space with a custom DJ booth, one red light and a disco ball. There’s a high end 4 point audiophile soundsystem. Over the years its played host to the likes of Joe Clausell, Rick Wilhite, Horse Meat Disco, Daniel Baldelli, Joy Orbisson, Funkineven, Toulouse Lowtrax and of course Kai Alce! The venue is *BYOB*: but we’re approaching this in the same way as last year. We’ll have a bar; fully stocked with garnishes, ice, cork screws, bottle openers. bitters, tonics, sodas - the whole 9 yards. When you arrive, you hand in your bottles to the bar - and after that our bar tender will operate a **free bar** all night. It doesn't work if you don't play by the rules, so we kindly ask everyone to chip in with beers, wines, spirits and otherwise and be creative. If you don’t drink alcohol, bring a nice soft drink. In the unlikely event of us running out of booze - there’s an off license next door so you can always nip over and buy a tinny! The price of a ticket is £15 - with it being BYOB we think this is amazing value and will work out to be cheaper than a regular night out - with one of the best DJs around in an amazing 200 capacity space we couldn’t think of a reason not to join us. We Start at 9 and we finish at 3. THE DEAL 2 decks, a rotary mixer, 1 red neon light, a disco ball and a few crates of vinyl. Dub fx. we recommend you buy ADVANCE TICKETS to guarantee a spot. £15 and BYOB There’ll be limited ticket sales on the night, but we’ll be able to let a few early birds in for £20 OTD, and throughout the night if space allows. We highly recommend you pick up a ticket tho - demand for this will be high. FYI no cloakroom!! dress to sweat. See you on the dance floor
