- Zone One at Elswhere hosts a special Heavy x Bassocial event! HEAVY brings together bass sounds across scenes and the global spectrum: dancehall, jungle, grime, kuduro, drumnbass, juke, tribal guarachero, zouk bass, UK dubstep, gqom, jersey club, dembow, dub, baile funk, footwork, vogue beats, UK garage, Miami bass and anything else that drops it thunderously low. DJs and hosts Ripley, Anna Morgan, and our newest team member PlayPlay proudly present another lineup reflecting the HEAVY aesthetic – fearless genre-crossing, deep dancefloor musicality and ferocious experiments all with plenty of bass! As this month’s headliner, we are beyond excited to announce that we will be having Slick Shoota, joining us from Oslo. Slick Shoota is a match made in heaven for HEAVY, with his high energy club hybrids that take inspiration from a myriad of sources, among them Chicago’s footwork and the UK’s jungle. With his productions he has carved out a unique sound that bridges both historical and geographical gaps, a sound that is well defined and exploratory at the same time. We love Slick's eclecticism in booking his club night and label Ball 'Em Up, and it's reflected in his performances, digging for tracks on the internet for hours on end to keep his sets unpredictable and entertaining. Our other honored guests cover the vast terrain of bass music: Matos and Lovelace have been slaying dancefloors with their many drum & bass parties since 2011, when they first joined forces in the Bay Area.
