  • Kicking off the first of what's expected to be many London parties, H&P's taking over an East London boozer for 7 hours with help from a slew of competent guests... In one room, Ali Renault will pitch up alongside our Numbers compatriot Goodhands and Mr Dissident himself, Andy Blake. One half of Heartbreak, Ali should be no stranger to most, his solo work first came to our attention following a series of druggy disco numbers on Dissident including last years awesome Zombie Raffle. With recent releases referencing house and electro from Chicago and Detroit, his liveset will be a stormer. Goodhands is familiar to kicking off a party - more often than not, his warm up sets at Numbers frequently upstage the main guests, taking in everything from disco, techno, electro, dubstep, hiphop and much more along the way. There's been far too many releases to even begin to start name-checking, but over the past two years, Dissident's 60-odd releases are a testimony to Andy Blake's fine taste. Despite them being limited, it comes as no surprise that they fly off straight off the shelves upon hitting record stores. We've been lucky to catch Andy DJ'ing on a number of times and each time he's been different, each time he's been awesome. We were first alerted to Nathan G. Wilkins many years ago when his re-edit introduced us to BHW's Stop. Fast forward to the present day, (alongside Dissident) his History Clock label is shaping up to be one of the finest new labels around with tracks such as Fitzcarraldo Variations 'Gamma Model' and It's A Fine Line's 'Woman' being staple tracks in a H&P set. His new release Black Cat is set to be another... As will A Diabolical Liberty from the Hardway Bros. 0.5 of the pair, Sean Johnson also joins us. Sean's been acquainted with London's club scene for years and based on the line-up's at his Future Flash night, we sing from the same hymn sheet with guests such as Weatherall, Koze, Lil Tony and Optimo guesting recently. You need to catch him in person if his mixes are anything to go by. Each release we've heard from Cage & Aviary seems to be better than last. Unsurprisingly, Dissident's initial release of Television Train was quickly snapped up by DFA. Now busying themselves with their own label, The Walls Have Ears, the first release, a remix of Bow Mods is a certified belter. One half Jamie Paton will join us behind the decks.
