  • THE ARTISTS. JOSH BUTLER. From the North of England to dance floors across the globe, Josh Butler has made serious headway with his high-caliber House sound. The talented northerner has become one of house music’s most revered talents over the last couple of years, boasting a plethora of acclaimed releases on prestigious labels (Noir, Cajual, Avotre, MTA, MadTech); gigs at some of the world’s best clubs and events including The Warehouse Project Manchester, Mint Club Leeds, Toffler Rotterdam, Chibuku Liverpool, Arches Glasgow, a residency at Sankeys Ibiza, and a plethora of key festival plays throughout Europe. Several industry awards later (DJ Mag Award 2014 and Beatport Award 2014) and with frequent support from industry players such as Joris Voorn, Pete Tong, Annie Mac, Kerri Chandler, Steve Lawler, Heidi and Noir all to his name, Josh continues to rise through the ranks of house music. At the dawn of 2013, there was no intention of a global explosion behind Josh’s stripped back ‘Got A Feeling’ debut for Chase and Status’ renowned MTA imprint. In retrospect, the track invariably proved to be Josh’s breakout into the industry’s field of vision, racking up remix duties from Ben Pearce, long-term friend and collaborator Bontan plus Pleasurekraft along the way. ‘Got A Feeling’ not only struck a chord with key industry players but also went on to become one of Beatport’s biggest selling tracks that year, later earning Josh a coveted Beatport Award to boot. The industry cocked an ear, the don Pete Tong gave his seal of approval on the BBC airwaves and Josh was subsequently invited to do an Afterhours Mix for his Radio 1 show. Josh’s new found recognition naturally led to a multitude of labels showing interest in his work, one of which was Kerri Chandler’s highly respected MadTech who, at the start of 2014a released the acclaimed ‘No Frills’ EP to great effect and sustained Josh’s charge towards setting a new precedent in underground house. PIRUPA. International Techno House DJ, Underground Hit Maker and Label Boss of NONSTOP! What Pirupa has accomplished in the last years is astounding and this is just the tip of the iceberg, making him one of the producers and DJs you have to watch. A talented DJ/producer from Italy, Pirupa has recently separated himself from the pack of successful producers by topping beatport's charts with his last releases. Now with two of the most downloaded tracks on Beatport "Sweet Devil" in 2009 , "Get Funky" in 2010 and "Party Non Stop" in 2012, the sky's the limit for this relentless talent from the small peninsula. Signed to impressive (well known) dance record labels in the world (Drumcode, Crosstown Rebels, Desolat, Intec Digital, Get Physical, Defected, Cècille, Viva Music, Saved, Noir Music, Rebirth, Snatch! Records, Suara, Stereo) Pirupa has recently remixed Sharam and the legendary Jamiroquai for Universal, more than Riva Starr, NiCe7, Luca Agnelli among others. Pirupa has accomplished this in a short period of time, building a reputation that takes most artists a lifetime to achieve. A feat like this can cause some people to sit back, relax, and acknowledge their own success but this has only caused Pirupa to work harder with new hot releases! His success in the studio led to rank at #11 in the Top100 Most Charted Artists of 2010 on Resident Advisor and has landed Pirupa gigs at some of the most prestigious clubs in the world, gracing the decks of many leading venues and festivals. JANSONS. Jansons is a name that has come into real prominence on the underground dance scene in the last couple of years. The established producer has engineered for artists releasing on some of the industry’s leading labels. Natural progression led Jansons to carve out a sound of his own, driving him to develop as an artist, kicking-off with an EP on Steve Lawler’s VIVa MUSiC imprint. His next offering was a remix for Nikola Gala, which was charted and supported by the likes of Butch, Carl Cox and Hector Couto. The track was also included in the Jamie Jones/Nathan Barato live Essential Mix, broadcast from Paradise at DC10. This was followed by a collaboration with Richy Ahmed, for the first-ever release on Richy’s record label, Four Thirty Two. Jansons was a featured artist on Pete Tong’s ‘New Names for 2017’ BBC Radio 1 show, which was a strong start to the year for the emerging talent and was subsequently asked to record a 2-hour live radio mix at Rinse FM. The DJ and producer went on to release a standout 3 track EP on Hot Since 82’s label, Knee Deep In Sound. The momentum continued with a release on Matt Tolfrey's Leftroom Records, which proved to be the label’s most popular track on Beatport; plus, a remix for 8bit founder, Gorge. A well-received remix for Senzala saw a further collaboration from Ahmed/Jansons as Lovehertz, an alias from the duo that is set to continue. Ending the year on a high, Jansons’ Mode EP on Four Thirty Two climbed the charts and garnered support from the likes of Eats Everything, Joris Voorn, Green Velvet, Andrea Oliva and Anja Schneider. Notable shows included his Room 1 debut at Fabric London and Kaluki at The Warehouse Project, Manchester. 2018 commences with a remix for Steve Lawler and an EP on MONTEL’s Misfit Music. This will be followed by a remix for Javi Bora on Do Not Sleep, and a collaboration with Hot Creations artist Mark Jenkyns. There is also an exciting project with Senzala on its way; the first track of which is already a firm favourite with DJs including Jamie Jones. THE ART GALLERY.
