Positive Centre (In Silent Series_Leyla_SNTS / Lisbon)
파지티브 센터(Positive Centre)는 영국 태생의 아티스트 마이크 제포드(Mike Jefford)의 실험적 테크노를 위한 아티스트명이다. 오랜 시간 베를린을 베이스로 음악 작업과 삶을 만들어오다가 현재는 리스본으로 거처를 옮겼다. 그는 아날로그 머신들과 함께 테이프와 이펙트 프로세싱들을 조합하여 몽환적이고 텍스쳐적인 테크노 음악을 만들어내고 있고, Our Circula Sound, Stroboscopic Artefacts, SNTS, Pole Group, Leyla 등의 레이블에서 릴리즈하였다.
2017년에 그는 Silent Series 레이블을 설립하여 음악적 풍경을 반영하는 텍스쳐적 사운드의 가능성을 발전시키고 구축하고 알리는 작업들 시작하였다. 그는 고향인 영국의 Meday에서 전자음악 프로듀싱과 디제잉을 시작하였다. 얼터너티브 UK 댄스 뮤직이 활성화된 배경에서 자라면서 음악적 영향을 받았었다. 영국의 Brighton에서는 파티들을 프로모트 하기도 하였고, 베를린으로 거처를 옮기고 나서는 그의 개인 작업들에 직중하기 시작하였다.
2013년에 파지티브 센터는 Sigha의 Our Circula Sound 레이블에서 지금은 그의 레이블 이름이 된 데뷔 앨범 Silent Series를 릴리즈하였다. 이후에 Stroboscopic Artefacts에서는 오랫동안 이어져온 Monad Series에 참여하여 릴리즈를 하였고, SNTS와 Leyla 레이블에서도 EP를 릴리즈하였다.
Positive Centre is the Experimental Techno alias of British born Artist Mike Jefford. Currently located in Lisbon after a long period of living and producing music in Berlin. Positive Centre combines analog machines with tape and effects processing to create hypnotic and textural techno music, with releases on Our Circula Sound, Stroboscopic Artefacts, SNTS, Pole Group and Leyla.
In 2017, Positive Centre established the In Silent Series label to promote and cultivate releases that develop the potential of textural sounds that reflect sonic landscapes.
Mike Jefford started out producing electronic music and dj’ing in his hometown of Medway (UK). Growing up on flourishing styles of alternative UK dance music that have influenced his sound, Jefford was involved in promoting parties in Brighton (UK) before relocating to Berlin to focus on his own projects.
In 2013 came the first of three Positive Centre releases on Sigha’s Our Circula Sound label concluding with his debut album In Silent Series, of which his label takes its name. This was soon followed by his contribution to the long running Monad Series on Stroboscopic Artefacts, plus EP’s for SNTS and Leyla.
