Lovers of the choicest electro house cuts can now get their week-in, week-out club fix right in the centre of London, as Superfreq, one of the best underground house nights in London and Ibiza, moves from a monthly Saturday slot to a regular slot on Sundays at AKA.
Mr C - co-founder of The End, originator of Superfreq and resident DJ will be on hand at each and every party to deliver superb chunks of electro, acid and minimal house. He'll also be joined by club residents Dollz at Play - lauded by many as hot new talents to watch for 2006.
During summer 2004, the Dollz first came into their own with a string of parties and a pair of residencies at two of the hippest venues (Underground, La Morgana) on the ultimate party island - Ibiza. Now, building on the success of their recent residency in The End's lounge at Superfreq in 2005, they bring their party to AKA on a weekly basis. Make no mistake, the Dollz are that rare breed of female DJ, possessing both musical integrity and flamboyant style, a bright force to be reckoned with.
At each Superfreq, the residents will be aided and abetted by a series of surprise special guests. Mr C comments, "Guests will be picked on the basis of their turntable skills and ability to rock the party - they'll represent the best of the UK's underground talents along with some special friends and like-minded souls from Europe and further afield!"
Mr C continues, "Superfreq's format is changing to nourish fluidity and keep the focus firmly on having fun. There will be an organic and flexible approach to booking DJs, allowing the club to enable the most exciting guests to join the party at AKA."
The club will launch a membership scheme from the launch party on February 12. Membership will be free and available on the night at each Superfreq events. Up-to-date alerts and news on DJ line ups will be announced to members on the week of each party, encouraging an 'in-the-know' vibe.
Keeping the insatiable amongst us satisfied, opening hours will also be very much freestyle; the party guarantees to continue until 5am. However, as and when the party crowd have the urge to extend their kicks into the twilight zone, Superfreq will be happy to oblige - with a fully licensed bar right the way through into Monday morning, thanks to AKA's new 24 hour licence.
