  • Discojuice with K15 (Eglo Records/Wild Oats) and Sassy J (Patchwork/Rush Hour) Switzerland's Sassy J is a very special dj. Her sets dive effortlessly into numerous genres and sounds, exhibiting house, jazz, disco, broken beat, ambient, the list goes on! Everyone that has been witness to a Sassy J dj set, would all agree on how charismatic yet engaging her sets are. These sets usually drift from captivating interludes, into sudden, powerful disco records. Her sets are always a journey, and they express her vast experience of djing passionality for 20 years now. Her sets also highlight her experiences of going to the iconic London clubnight Co-op as a teenager, bringing those influences back to her own clubnight, Patchwork, in Switzerland. We have wanted to book Sassy J in Brighton ever since we started Discojuice, this is going to be really special! Our second headliner for this event, is the remarkably gifted producer K15. After booking him for a party at Al Duomos in October, we knew we had to have him back in Brighton! Since then he has had some outstanding releases. His 'Sunbeams' release holds the influences of broken beat, evoking inspirations of the likes of Dego and Domu. Alongside this, as RA writes, the release holds 'layers on bright synth solos and some convincing jazz comping while retaining the "Deep Burnt"-style atmosphere that has been the trademark of his house tracks'. His variety as a producer is what makes us such a big fan. In March we saw a second Culross Close release, a moniker of K15, called 'Moments', a futuristic and dazzling jazz 7" EP. Whats more, his dj sets are just as diverse as his productions, we can't wait to see him tear it up in Patterns.
