Supporting Hobo will be Metroline Limited's finest - Audio Dependent with his latest liveset and one of London's busiest DJ-duo Virustage. The residents John Connell and Jan will be on hand to round off the line-up.
This will all be hosted on Friday 2nd October at Hub Club, an intimate venue 2 mins walk from Aldgate/Aldgate East station. It will be packed with 17k Turbo soundsystem, state of the art lighting and cheap bar prices along with friendly staff - it has all the ingredients needed for a great party!

Hobo LIVE [Minus, CA]
Growing up in Sarnia about an hour’s drive from Detroit, Hobo or Joel Boychuck, first connected with electronic music through Kraftwerk who in turn stimulated his interest in the rich techno landscape. Jeff Mills and Juan Atkins were particularly influential but it was Plastikman’s Sheet One that really sealed the deal, inspiring him to start building his own loops and samples. He was soon hooking up for laptop jam sessions with Adam Young after high school and the pair gradually evolved into Tractile. Regular trips to Untitled at Detroit’s Shelter club followed and it was there that he handed Clark Warner the first Tractile demo. Richie Hawtin soon got wind of their potential and suddenly the prospect of a Minus release was on the table. A deal was eventually struck at the Detroit Electronic Music Festival in 2005. Tractile’s “Silent Movie EP” on Minus was a memorable affair of action packed tunes. After relocating to Berlin and spending a whirlwind 13 months touring Europe, soaking up the city’s electric atmosphere and collecting invaluable experience. Joel decided to follow his instincts and return home to pursue his own musical vision and develop his own identity. That identity is Hobo and it came about in a Yurt somewhere deep in The Pinery – a National Park close to his home in Sarnia, where he spent a week last winter writing his new EP “From A to B”. It was a bold move, embarking on a solo career, he ventured into the wilderness not knowing what he would find. It’s a deeply personal, exploratory approach to the creative process built on the belief that the more you put yourself into the music, the greater the chance the listener will get something meaningful out of it. The result is a collection of individual, almost stand-alone tracks defined by perception and experience. Joel freely admits that there’s more emotion in this new body of work, a more vivid sense of life brought about by his close proximity to nature while recording. It’s a process he intends to recreate in the future at equally inspiring locations around the world as and when the hobo in his heart yearns for more adventure.
Audio Dependent LIVE [Metroline Limited]
Audio Dependent is the musical alter-ego of London based audio-visual artist, Tim Cowie. He has released music on After-Dinner Recordings, Clever Music, Night Drive Music, Alt-Recordings, Chien Kollektiv, but it is his two EPs on Metroline Limited that have reached the highest critical acclaim. 2007's 'Dislocated EP' received support from international DJs such as the Italoboyz, Andrew Weatherall, Arnaud Le Texier and Shelly Parker; and the track 'Toenail' from 2008's 'Fruit and Veg EP' features on the 2009 Time Warp festival compilation mixed by Marco Carola. Over the last 9 months Audio Dependent has been very busy reworking his liveset from scratch, striping it back to its bare bones and integrating hardware synths to allow for a much more creative and expressive performance. After a performance at Berlin' Dienstagwelt amongst others, this set is now fully refined and perfected for the dancefloor. Expect deep stabs and sweeping pads, rumbling sub bass and squelching synths all held together with a shuffled groove that will keep you dancing all night.
John Connell [dumb¦found¦sound]
John began djing house and techno in the UK in 1996, moving to Tokyo in 2000. Since then he has held residencies at Womb, Air and Real Grooves @ Yellow and Unit. He has played with the likes of Richie Hawtin (Minus), Ricardo Villalobos (Cocoon, Playhouse), Matthew Dear (Spectral), Mathew Jonson (Wagon Repair), Sven Vath (Cocoon), Akufen (Musique Risque, Perlon) among many others. Grain Records is a project he started in 2006 with Niklas Niemenen and Jason Hopfner, on which he also produces. Tracks on the label have been supported by Akufen (Musique Risque, Perlon), Loco Dice (Cadenza), Magda (Minus), Audio Werner (Perlon) and Vincent Lemieux (Musique Risque, MUTEK). Mutual love for music has brought John to the Dumbfound family and he is now a full fledge resident artist with productions on the way.
Virustage [Insomnia, Forbidden Fruit]
Fresh from releasing their long overdue Alma Vagabunda EP on Monomental Records, these two Italian boys in London are geared up with new materials for dumb¦found’s sixth edition. After taking a short break in the summer, Francesco and Fabiano are back to their busy schedule of producing music and tirelessly working the London’s party scenes with their long-standing Forbidden Fruit parties and a residency at Insomnia, as well as guest appearances at the Egg, Den and 54. Playing alongside Florian Meindl, Deepgroove and recently hosting their own room at Mauro Picotto’s The Gallery in Ministry of Sound, these guys are definitely on the way up!
Jan [dumb¦found¦sound]
Jan's involvement in the electronic music scene started with one fateful New Year's Eve in the early '90's and he has never looked back since. After a successful two year stint organising and djing at the infamous Kinda Nu parties, Jan took a couple years off the scene and came back with his own reinterpretation of dance music, which led to a short residency at Public Life. As his background comes from house music his new sound is often on the funkier side of deep, minimal, and techno. 2009 sees Jan growing as a DJ and has joined the dumb¦found¦sound crew as a resident artist.
