  • Max Cooper – ‘One Hundred Billion Sparks’ Album Tour Thursday 20th September 2018 19:00 – 23:00 (Last Entry 9pm) Koko London, 1A Camden High St, London NW1 7JE Max Cooper With Support from: Guy Andrews Brecon Age restriction: 14+. under 16s must be with an adult. I.D. Essential. Electronic music composer and A/V innovator Max Cooper has a brand new sensory extravaganza in the works. Following the wake of his boundary-pushing shows Emergence and last year's incredible Aether/MESH Live, Max Cooper is returning to the capital to showcase his forthcoming album – ‘One Hundred Billion Sparks.’ After spending a month in complete isolation at a remote cottage in Wales, Max Cooper started work on his third studio album, in which he interrogates notions of identity whilst profiling the complex mechanisms that make us all wonderfully unique. The album searches for artistry amongst the mechanisms, emotions and constructs which yield our identity and experience. "'One Hundred Billion Sparks' is my attempt to express what was there after I had removed my everyday life. No phone calls, no emails, no messages, no human contact or conversation for a month, that was the idea. What I found were the fables we live inside, our constructs, the mechanisms which create them, and the experience of parsing them." This is set to be Cooper's biggest stage yet as he projects his peerless artistic vision onto an iconic London dancefloor. KOKO London needs little introduction. The venue is the jewel in the crowd of Camden, and to call its dancefloor iconic would be an understatement. Over the last decade, the venue in one of its incarnations has played host to some of the most significant musical and culture junctures of UK entertainment history. The launch of cinema, birth of punk, the rise of new romanticism - the list goes on. Many legendary artists have passed through its hallowed halls, and now live performer Max Cooper gets to add his name to that rich heritage. Max Cooper is joined at KOKO London by two support acts. It’s easy to understand why Max would chose Guy Andrews as the first name joining him. London-based Andrews diverse musical palette sees him painstaking layer dark and atmospheric soundscapes that incorporate electronica, afrobeat and even post-rock. Most notably, he has released an ambient album on fabric’s Houndstooth record label showcasing his many talents. Anybody who gets the seal of approval from moguls such as Massive Attack and Mary Anne Hobbs is obviously doing something right. The second name is brother tandem Brecon. Solo producers in their own right, the siblings have paired up to collaborate on a project that takes inspiration from the natural landscapes of their Bristol and South Wales home - hence the name. The output is the heavier end of techno, injected with introspective melodies. No doubt taking inspiration from their mentor, Brecon are following in Cooper’s footsteps by developing their own A/V spectacular. Both these acts compliment Max’s experimental and technology-focused sensibilities, completing the line-up for the One Hundred Billion Sparks live show.
