Damon 'DāM-FunK' Riddick is the epitome of funk. Ever since debuting with the single Burgundy City released at the Los Angeles-based label Stones Throw Records in 2008, DāM-FunK has become one of the genres most passionate proselytizers. To Dam, funk is a way of living - from the start of his music-career, he was determined to go “full-funk” and make a do-or- die try to become an artist on his own terms. As he puts it, “funk is the underdog, the black sheep of black music” - and if that’s true, Dam-Funk is the shepherd.
Golden Ivy
The Malmö-based producer Ivar Lantz has shaped his own eccentric sound as a solo artist under the name Golden Ivy as well as through his collaborations with Prins Emanuel on the duos own label Fasaan Recordings. Opting for simple and sometimes lo-fi techniques, Ivar brings out the warmth in the drum machines and synthesizers he commands to churn out funky downtempo grooves and serene new age tropical ballads.
