Head honcho of US record label Italians do it better, international DJ/producer sensation Mike Simonetti will tour Australia’s shores this August.
Playing dates in Melbourne, Perth, Gold Coast and Sydney, Mike’s ability to sound out the freshest disco around names him as one of the most prominent tastemakers in ‘modern’ disco. 2006 saw the birth of the Italians do it better imprint. Fostering the new Italo-disco sounds, his achievements don’t end here.
After Dark, the breakthrough compilation on the IDIB imprint put Mike on the music map. It has been described as fostering “icy, mechanized sounds” rather than his usual beats and boom - “noise rock”.
Founder of the post-punk/noise label Troubleman Unlimited, he combines these two huge musical influences on his life both. His hit Moroder/Bobby flows fluidly into classic rock and esoteric dance.
