『本祭の熱量をそのままに、rural2018のオフィシャルアフターパーティが開催』
今年で10年目を迎えるエレクトロニック系フェスティバルrural。至極のロケーションを舞台に展開される独自のラインナップと和やかなムードで国際的な評価を獲得している国内屈指のイベントが、長野の山間部で行われる本祭から場所を移し、アフターパーティをContactで開催する。
Studio Xフロアに登場するブリストルのプロデューサーBatuは、Timedanceの主宰者としてハイブリッドなUK産ダンスミュージックの新たな潮流を巻き起こしている目下注目の存在だ。この日もサウンドシステム・カルチャーと実験的アプローチをかけあわせた幅広いテクノサウンドを極めてスリリングに表現してくれるに違いない。ベルリンからはFISも参戦。ドラム&べース、テクノ、ミニマル、アンビエントの既成概念から外れていくエキサイティングな新感覚ダンスミュージックを追求する彼のプレイも必見だ。
一方のContactフロアにもruralらしいラインナップが集う。地下産エレクトロ、変種ディスコ、レフトフィールド・アシッドサウンドなど、斜めからの視点で強烈な体験を提供するIntergalactic Gary。そして、イギリスのネットラジオKMAH RadioからはDr. Josephが出演。鋭い感性でハウスからエレクトロニカまでを横断する選曲が耳の肥えた地下住人たちを別世界に導く。

Now into its tenth year, rural has established itself as one of the leading electronic music events in Japan, with an international reputation for exclusive, intimate performances set to a stunning countryside backdrop. Straight after the festivities have concluded in the mountains in Nagano, the party will continue back in the city at Contact.
Bristol, UK-based producer Batu will be appearing on the Studio X floor. The Timedance label boss has rapidly risen to become one of the leading protagonists in the new wave of hybridized UK dance music, drawing on soundsystem culture and experimental approaches to create a thrilling new language within the wider realms of techno. He’ll be joined by FIS, the New Zealand-born, Berlin-based producer exploring exciting new pastures on the outer reaches of drum & bass, techno, minimalism and ambient.
Meanwhile the Contact floor will host Intergalactic Gary – a DJ with an impeccable reputation for underground electro, oddball disco, acid and much more besides. UK-based KMAH Radio’s Dr. Joseph will also appear on the Contact floor, presenting his keen instinct for high quality house, techno, minimal and electronica.
