On the closing night of the Edinburgh Fringe we are bringing Sonic Groove labelmates Christina Sealey (Orphx) and Post Scriptum together for maximum dancefloor destruction. Local support comes from Dark As You Like (live) and NULL / VOID DJs (Glasgow) plus DJ Void.
Adam X's Sonic Groove Records have been straddling the New York - Berlin techno scenes for years now, with two of their deadliest signings being Canada's industrial techno titans Orphx and shadowy electronic maverick Post Scriptum.
Along with Orphx bandmate Rich Oddie, Christina Sealey has been instrumental over the last 20 years in bringing the disparate genres of industrial and techno seamlessly together, leading to classic albums like 2006's Insurgent Flows, 2011's Radiotherapy and most recently 2016's Pitch Black Mirror. A pioneer in bringing modular synth action into the techno mainstream, Christina is a keen hardware specialist with an inimitable ear for deep, rolling and heavy beats. Her career in fine art and work opening up the live electronics sphere to young women also distinguishes her in her circle. We can't wait to welcome her to Scotland for the first time and see what she has up her sleeve!
Post Scriptum needs no introduction - having played all over the world in various guises since the 90s, this project has built a fearsome reputation due to his uncompromising DJ sets and fierce production skills. He takes no prisoners, harking back to classic 90s industrial rock as well as the current Berlin scene with his stomping beats and intense noise workouts. His new live Dark As You Like project also offers a flipside to his techno guise, blending synthpop, classic industrial stylings and gnarly fuzz-bass into a unique, hypnotic whole. Between Christina and Post Scriptum, the main room is gonna be a proper Sonic assault!
Doors will be open from 11.30 with local legend DJ Void joining Glasgow's NULL / VOID lads to bring you nothing but brutal tunes all night long, kicking the arse oot of the last 5AM licence of the season.
